ZOS unofficial reply = Thank you for buying the game. Please subscribe, buy all dlcs, and lots of crowns.

Oh, come on! The only predatory monetization they've made so far is very expensive housing and all RP stuff (costumes, emotions...) hidden in Crown Store. But somehow the most vocal and dissatisfied are those who don't care about these things.
PS: well, okay, they also decided to incentivize those who play for the story to buy dungeon DLCs.

It STILL infuriates me that they weren't able to stay a Sub-only game, because they should be able to make all their money off of the single thing they do best, which is create amazing content, rather than have to rely on overpriced pixels and sleazy gambling crates. Though the players are as much to blame for that as ZOS.

But still, they are really, really good at the most important thing.

Meanwhile you have Activision charging a dollar for one red dot in Blackops. While ZOS surely has been guilty of doing some not so nice things....they really are less atrocious regarding monetization as some other "triple A" company.

Might even be that ESO gets better in the long run since Bethesda on the other hand screwed up badly with Fallout 76. So I bet ESO is a good money maker for Zenimax as a parent company and they need it to be succesfull and getting some "good will" back from the gaming community.

    Content drop? lol

They are already down to two dungeon DLCs per year which brings the meaningful content additions to just two per year which is in comparison not very much.

ESO has a ton of content but not because ZOS offers so much new content per year.

Why is basically every other MMORPG handing out new dungeons for free and doesn't shove them into a lame DLC? Not only P2P MMORPGs are handing out new dungeons on a frequent basis, even F2P MMORPGs do so - for free.

ESO is the only MMORPG I know where new dungeons are not part of usual content or expansion releases.

This. They charge for every single thing. Subscription is basically paying for craft bag. Everything else is laughable such as increased xp etc. The way people act like the subscription fee is nothing shows how deluded many are towards making a decent profit versus outright greed.

I agree it should be more content, tips make 1 and 2 versions of the new dungeons, 1 would be like the old 2 dungeons while 2 is dlc difficulty. You can reuse most of the art. just new bosses and mechanics.

Except you're crapping on them for charging for the only thing they actually should be making their money off of: New content.

If you make all the new content free and have ZOS make all its money off of the things that sanity says should all be available from in-game activity, then the company will take resources away from the thing that doesn't make them money and put them into the thing that does.

For a person who actually values the RPG content, your priorities are wildly skewed. Content is expensive to make. Reskinning a horse is not. Do not encourage ZOS to put even more emphasis on the wrong department.

Subscription gives you access to the DLC for free, like the P2P MMORPGs. From my experience F2P MMORPGs generally limit you in other ways unless you pay for it.

I didnt "crap on anything". I stated neutral facts. Buying the game and paying a subscription fee is constantly contributing to their earnings. Some people's attitudes are akin to Stockholm Syndrome. Corporate greed is alive and thriving due to people with loose pockets and naive ideas.

This game doesn't offer any substantial content for subscribers. A dungeon DLC is not worth to subscribe for and due to the Chapter nature there is now only one update per year that adds little amounts of real content to the game which is worth the subscription - the Q4 zone DLC.

The overall amount of content this game gets per year is TINY. Compared to its big competitors like Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 and Black Desert the content updates in ESO aren't even worth mentioning. GW2 has four major updates a year (free!) that come each with a new zone, new raid/dungeon, new in game achievable mounts etc. The same goes for Black Desert. WoW might be P2P but they offer a lot more content in that regard.

The only substantial content ESO gets is - as I said - the Q4 update because the dungeon DLCs aren't even worth mentioning - to hand them out as DLCs is a very cheap way of generating money. Then we have the Chapter which in size is similar to one of the huge updates FFXIV or WoW get per year (for "free", only paid by sub) and in no way comparable to a huge expansion those games offer (which btw. are around 5 times bigger as ESOs Chapter and do cost the same).

Yes. Zos does a very good job with the content they put out. Except for pvp. If you are a pvp player then you're pretty much out of luck except for a new BG map here and there. But thats the business model..

This is by far the most content-rich MMO out there. I came from GW2 which literally had nothing outside of the story quests. It was just an empty world with vistas and random fetch quests with no real story.

This game has at least 450 hours of fully voiced quest content in the base game. The expansions/DLCs have added another 150 hours since. And this isn't counting all the time you could spend in dungeons/trials and PvP. That's 600 hours of quest content + 34 dungeons + 2 group arenas + 1 solo arena + 7 raids + AvA PvP + battlegrounds PvP.
