Buffs and Debuffs (timers)

First of all, I'm not asking ZOS to change anything. I'm just a bit tired of the juggling.

Frost Cloak: 21 seconds
Betty Netch: 24 seconds
Lotus Flower: 20 seconds

Endless Hail: 10 seconds
Poison Injection: 10 seconds
Caltrops: 12 seconds

It feels like I spend all of my time juggling buffs and debuffs, and when I'm done with Caltrops, it's time to reapply Frost Cloak again. It's a bit draining to play like this.

/end rant.

Just looking at this listing makes me tired. ...Might be time for another coffee.

That's how it's done you reapply buffs and damage over time and if you have a second or more in between that you use your main dmg ability. That's the concept of a proper rotation. And if you get better in juggling your timers you increase your damage. :)

I'm not unfamiliar with doing rotations, and I spent many years playing WoW at the highest raiding difficulty. Even with 10+ abilities in my rotations, I didn't spend most of my time looking at buff timers. Even playing an affliction warlock, it never felt as demotivating as juggling those 6 skills in ESO.

I don't want this to turn into a complain thread, because I happen to enjoy the combat system in ESO a lot. I'm just frustrated with looking at the timers.

    1. Buff up
    2. Use AoEs and debuffs on boss
    3. Spend 5 seconds attacking
    4. Buff up
    5. Use AoEs and debuffs on boss
    6. Boss moves
    7. Use AoEs and debuffs on boss
    8. Buff up

It's especially annoying with bosses like the hag in Blackheart Haven. I put down endless hail and caltrops, only to have her teleport away.

I would like to spend less time buffing and debuffing, and spend more time using different reactive and instant attack skills.

God isn't that starting to feel like an overused mechanic. Boss teleports/tunnels/flies/sprints 100m away so you have to chase them. Then when you get there they do it again! Ugh.

I couldn't agree more. I have a friend that plays a Templar, and he likes to use Solar Prison as his ultimate. He used to drop his ultimate on bosses at the start, so that he has a chance to get it back before the fight ends. This worked the first couple of times, but then the boss teleported as her first action, and now it's almost comical to watch him. "Do I use it at the start? Do I save it for the first teleport? The second teleport?" and even some very logical deductions "If I use it the moment she starts using her fire channel ability..." and then she doesn't do it a single time during the entire fight.
