When Will We See the Light?

The Templar class has a skill set that is dominated by light based skills and yet in the current game, outside of the Templar class, light is extremely under represented. I can understand that we might never see a light staff (although having a staff type for templars and nightblades would be awesome, representing light and shadow) as an equivalent to the fire, frost and lightning staves that represent DK, Warden and Sorcerer respected skill lines, but what I can't understand is why light is so massively under represented when it comes to gear sets. To the best of my knowledge there are only two sets that are light related (if there are more, please, comment and let me know). There is the Meridia's Blessed set that is heavy armour, found in Coldharbour and gives a chance to blind an attacker when blocking. There is also the Trinimac's Valor light armour set found in Wrothgar that calls down a fragment of Trinimac to heal you and your allies. However this last set only procs when you cast a damage shield on an ally and Templars have no class skills that do this. In this regard this set is more suitable for a DK healer as they have three class skills that do.

I get that most players put together their gear based on best in slot and couldn't give a second thought about the aesthetics or class lore, but if you are a role player (and this is a RPG after all) then having class friendly options is important. Earthgore might be best in slot, but my Priestess of Stendarr is not going to be doing blood magic anytime soon. On the other hand my vampire blood healer is going to love it - good job to whoever designed it! Likewise my warden healer loves the class-friendly Chokethorn monster set. However the general rule seems to be, if you want to do fire damage then you really have choices (5 sets in City of Ash alone) and if you want another element then you will be OK, just not if you want light.

I admit that when I read the journal at the end of the Summerset story line that I had hope that light based sets might start to appear and the two new monster sets are promising depending on how they are done visually. So ZOS, what do you say, can Templars expect to see a bit more representation when it comes to class-friendly gear sets? It is no fun being the ugly stepchild. Show us some love.
