Wood Elf (Bosmer) "Useless" Passive

Really!?!?!?! Stamina ... use bow ... roll = move speed 4 sec -- 1 sec longer than the passive. (Most Bosmer are using a bow!)
Detection area increase --- useless in PvE (and PvP most likely)

They are only race with a totally useless passive no matter what type you like to play.

bosmer's new mobility racial will be amazing for kiting in pvp. this is only a nerf if you are a ganker (which is a niche playstyle anyway). using the bow doesn't make the bosmer speed passive useless either, as speed stacks.

I find the taking less damage from jumping off high stuff a nice bonus. So I say you are wrong in saying totally useless passive.
Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

If kiting .... are you not plinking with bow? = longer move bonus with bow passive then bosmer passive

Fall damage passive is not part of the movement/detection passive.... it's a different one.

Come on, everything not so bad this patch.. at average you'll have ~ 100 less stamina regen then redguard and instead will have that roll-dodge speed. And redguard is BiS for stamdps. On live bosmer is in much worse condition..

I didn't say Bosmer are bad now... I just said that they are only race with 1 comeplerly useless passive in PvE and most likely useless in PvP too.

When I think kiting I am keeping my distance while plinking with bow as they chase. . . Bow passive does same thing as bosmer passive AND last longer.

The detection part of the same passive is just pointless in PvE and VERY situationally effective in PvP to a point where potions and a few skills already detect things to the same degree and it won't really trigger often enough to be effective...imo

All the masters axe bleed builds who like running around as fast as possible will enjoy Bosmers now. ESO leads dont seem to care much about TES race roles or Archer/Ranger playstyle.

It stacks, because the bow-roll dodge passive is granting you major expedition (30% increased speed) for 4 seconds. The Bosmer roll dodge passive is giving you a flat extra 20% increased movement speed for 3 seconds. So if you roll dodge with a bow equipped on a bosmer, for the first 3 seconds you'll be going at 50% extra speed.

EDIT: But I do agree with you on the detection passive.

Mobility is key in pvp, it's going to be the best racial passive in the game if it goes live. Time to dust off my stamblade.

The movement speed passive is a very strong tool in PvP, it stacks with Hasty Retreat and lets you move at almost the Speed Cap without trading any sustain or damage.
It allows you to have alot more control of your fights, it lets you reset fights alot easier and I think the most important part about it is that it lets you escape from outnumbered scenarios alot easier.

Kiting and Maneuverability is what the bow playstyle is supposed to be about because Bows in ESO have been designed to be a kiting/burst opening tool, if you look at abilities like Snipe, Poison Injection, Ballista, etc... All of those skills act as Burst opening tools.
Bow was never meant to be a Burst damage tool, that is what 2handers do and I think alot of people dont understand this. When ESOs combat skills were designed they went by the concept that:
    Dual Wield = Pressure Damage
    Two-Handed = Burst Damage
Sword and Board = Tankiness and Fight Control/Debuffs
Bows = Kiting and Burst Opening tools

Players are supposed to choose from these 4 weapon types to match their playstyles.

Coming back to Bosmer passives, they really arent far off from being the top stamina DPS either.
The 260 flat stam recovery passive is alot more sustain than any other stamina race provides right now as it gets inflated by Stamina Recovery buffs. On top of that you get the 2000 Max stamina which roughly equals to about 191 weapon damage.
Ofcourse they wont be the top spec for DPS but they wont be as far away as they were before.

I actually have more stam regen on PTS than I do on live and the difference in my max stamina is literally 37

The Flat recovery gives u more numbers than the % passive did, its an obvious buff, same as the flat max stam

You need to re-read the passives (as did I). Bosmer gets 20% increased speed. Bow passive gives major expedition when rolling (30%) increased speed. As the bosmer passive is not a major/minor buff, it should stack with everything up to the speed cap.

At first glance, I thought bosmer might be getting a PVP nerf, but I dont think so anymore. Bosmers will have to do very little to stay at the speed cap most of the time, even in heavy armor. Dodgeroll with a bow and sprint, and you are at 190% (only 10% under cap.

Its a flat increase bud. Not a major or minor buff so the 20% stack with major and minor expedition...

I am glad to have misinterpreted the information I guess...! I was under the impression the move speed did not stack. Oh to be fully informed... it would make the world a much better place! 😉😁

The only speed buffs that do not stack are major/minor expedition. All others stack additively.

Your base movement speed is 100%. You can stack bonuses up to 200 percent (not counting mounted speed, which can go to 230% I believe with Major Gallop).

    The Big three are:
    -Major Expedition: 30%
    -Minor Expedition: 10%
    -Sprinting: 40%

Other sources include Medium armor passives, Swift trait, Set bonuses, Steed mundus, Orc and Bosmer passives, CP passives, etc.

Only thing you really need to pay attention to is that some bonuses are only applied while sprinting while others are applied all the time. Basically just add them up knowing anything over 100 is essentially wasted. Getting to speed cap while sprinting is relatively straight forward, especially in medium armor. For a lot of people, the trick is how close they can get to the cap without sprinting. Both need to be considered. A build that is close to the cap without sprinting is likely wildly over the cap when sprinting.

For example, Bosmer in 5/1/1 medium would be over the cap after a bow dodge roll and sprint: 100% base, 30% major exp. from bow, 15% from Medium passives, 40% from sprint, and 20% from class passives, which equals 205% (capped at 200). They would be at approximately 150% speed, non sprinting after a bow dodge roll (only major expedition and the class bonus apply non sprinting in this case).

Ironic, but they are tied for 1st place with Orcs for Stamina DPS.

But is their stacking going to last? It wasn't too far back when ZOS did away with most unnamed bonuses, especially those that increased movement speed. I would be stunned if they didn't do the same with this ability.

Yeah the new bosmer racials sucks hard.

And I'd imagine that there are a lot of players who chose bosmer in part for their stealth bonus. Taking that away is just plain nasty.
