    Used to be Skyrim.

Then I played TES III Morrowind (heavily modded).

I still like Skyrim, but Morrowind's story, lore, and worldbuilding is top-notch. I'm glad mods let me tweak the gameplay enough to enjoy it.

Despite my respect and love to TES3, Skyrim is still better game, even without mods. That humor and level design, that balanced and solid detailed world and it's atmosphere of wander and freedom, nothing beats it.

    Oblivion
Oblivion is a seminal game for me. Up to a certain point in my gaming life I was a mark for JRPGs in general and the Final Fantasy series in particular. Then I played Oblivion. Coming out of the Imperial Sewers for the first time was such a profound experience for me that I can still remember it clearly. It was nighttime, in the moonlight an Ayleid ruin was reflected on Lake Rumare, there were clams I interacted with that gave me a pearl(!) and an imp fireballed me to, well, oblivion. It was a seismic shift on my views and notions on how games are and how they can be. I have not played any other types of games since.

Skyrim is a one of a kind game. I hope Redfall or whatever they call it comes at least on 80% close in quality and immersion.

Redguard was a bit of a mess.

    Daggerfall
I'd have to say Daggerfall still takes the top spot because of how fleshed out the game is. The world is massive and there is so much that can happen. The cities feel like real cities. Sadly the technology caused some serious problems with the game, but for what it did and when it came out it was unheard of.

Past that I'd have to say Morrowind then ESO are my favorites. I love skyrim, but its just not that good when compared to the other elder scrolls games.

    Morrowind
Morrowind and ESO above all else honestly...

The other games can be very disorganized at times, Battlespire and Redguard especially. Morrowind and ESO feel like the most focused games throughout the entire series with characters I care about and lore I love.

I love Oblivion for its campyness.

Skyrim did make the combat a bit bearable and is heavily moddable so you can do all sorts of cool stuff. I liked Dawnguard and Dragonborn, but Skyrim's base game can be lacking at times without big quest mods. A better with mods game.

Daggerfall and Arena are fun in their own little way.

    We don't talk about Shadowkey.

Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

    Oblivion
If it's just vanilla -> Morrowind
If it's modded is a tough choice between Oblivion and Morrowind, and I chose Oblivion just because it's almost the perfect sandbox for building up character stories and playing them out using mods.

    Oblivion
I've got 4000 hours each in Oblvion and Skyrim and about 3000 hours in ESO.

Oblivion. Liked the storylines and memorable characters, smooth usage of skills, flexible leveling system. Did not need too many mods.

Skyrim. Took 4 steps forward and 5 steps backwards. Great graphics, much improved followers, mounted combat, better horses. Character generation and skill usage (hand micromanagement) were atrocious and would not have played Skyrim if I could not have fixed that with mods. Lots of mods needed to help the game achieve its potential.

ESO. I love the sheer mass and scale of so much land to explore! Staves are actually good weapons for the first time in Elder Scrolls history. Combat system is pretty good. Biggest drawback to me is that it is multiplayer and everything that comes with that (frustrating 'balance' nerfs, inability to mod). I prefer NPCs to humans in games because they stay in character and perfectly match my schedule.

Morrowind. In terms of actual depth and world-building it has felt more immersive than any game since.

Gameplay and mechanics have improved with later game. World building and story really don't feel like they have.

I hoped that the same magic would be there in the Dragonborn DLC where you visited Solstheim again, but something felt like it was missing. It seemed... flat. Shallow.

I chose this option for the characters who travel, fight, and banter with each other over the course of the game. Plus the real choices that really effect the course of the game, including how it ends. I am sure I have made a request to have followers here but everyone would say it was a terrible idea as this is a MMO game.

Currently my favorite is ESO. Simply because im playing it and having more fun playing it than i could playing the others. I started playing TES in early 2000's soon after Morrowind came to original xbox and at the time it was my favorite. When oblivion came it was my favorite. Overall I think i had the most fun playing Morrowind but hard to say its my favorite because i can hardly play it now. I loved skyrim as well but it missed so much that Morrowind and Oblivion had as Oblivion missed so much that Morrowind had. Again I had the most fun playing Morrowind so if i were to choose favorite by; that then it would be the winner.

    Morrowind
Skyrim was my first TES game which I played for over like 2000 hours on both PC and Ps3.
I had to give Morrowind many different tries cause I hated it, but I ended up modding the hell out of it to enjoy it.
Now I play Morrowind without mods and I like it way way better than Skyrim. I can't play Skyrim for more than 30 minutes now as I recently found out and uninstalled it.

Daggerfall is really good too, but I haven't finished it and I'm afraid to like it more than Morrowind because I love the alien world of Vvardenfell. It doesn't get old for me.
