Please dont tell me they are removing CP?

I heard some rumors that CP is being removed, PLEASE tell me this isnt so? Ive been at it for 2,5 years and soon reaching the cap - this is my primal motivation in this game, with this gone i dont know how id be able to continue playing.

This is just a BS rumor right?

It's some BS rumor.
People are freaking out. They just stopped to increase the CP cap. Nothing to worry about. They will rework CP in the future, but not remove it.

The cap will not be raised next patch, but removal is like you say, just a rumor.

Holy crap, thank god! Thanks guys, that was reassuring. The CP grind aswell as craft grind has kept me going for years and is my biggest achievments in my gaming history, id hate it being all for nothing.

This actually made me think about how much time i have invested in getting to 700CP ( getting there tomorrow) and 8 traits. I have 3000hrs played. Thank god they arnt ditching the CP system, i really like it and it keeps me motivated.

They'll most likely balance it somehow, though. My bet is that they'll change everything in the game to flat values, rather than percentage modifiers. Buuuut, as others said, it's pure speculation.

If people as saying CP is being removed they are incorrect. They have no way of knowing what will happen and are merely spreading false information for attention.

Zos is reviewing CP which does mean we can expect changes but what they will amount to we have no idea, and certainly those telling you the false information have no clue either.

They could do anything, removing CP is on the table but so is complete rework of CP. Anyone who says that they know what Zo$ will do at this point is feeding you fake news because I doubt even Zo$ knows what they are going to do.

I hope so. Vr sucked and cps aren't much better.

I'd like class and or racial trees to further develop your character instead of percentage increases.

One person said about picking a daedra/aedra to worship and through that you would open up skills based on that specific god.

I was told that is similar to how WoW worked, but I have no clue never played that game.

Well even if they would remove it, there would be an alternative progress system, with another name and maybe some other specs, so I don't know why people play this game for cp. I mean sure, most of the game is repetitive so.. But just for the cp naaah.

...and that is why they are unlikely to remove it. Since all too many people would feel that way, and likely turn their back on ESO altogether if it happened.

They are merely slowing down progression by not raising the cap quarterly while they think about how they should adjust the system to prevent the power gap to be as bad as it can be sometimes... there may be some reworking of the whole thing sometime in the future, but for now it just slows down the cap increases...

Gods, I really hope they might someday rework THAT system. I mean, we have battle levelling now anyhow, why not throw out weapons levels entirely?
And add a second "material quality" system that unlike the tempering quality cannot be refitted... while cutting down the crafting materials, instead of having some that are never gonna be useful anymore...
Oh, well. Guess we shall see.

I think the issue is that it takes a long time to level CP and the cap kept increasing, every time new players were getting near the finish line.

When I came back to the game, with a level 1 Warden and 0 CP, the CP cap was 600 - now it's 810.

I got to the point where I thought I would never reach the cap, as it would just keep increasing, just before I got there.

As it turns out, I was wrong - I finally got there after 17 months (quite a bit of which was spent stealing and decorating!), but that is how it felt.

So, they're freezing it to re-evaluate it and to allow people to catch up.

Having said that, never get too attached to meaningless progress in games.

It really doesn't matter.

It's not like completing some sort of content you never thought you would - it's just adding pointless numbers.

Increasing your stats by precentage points is not very good motivation to play this game.

if they remove cp they need to replace it...and if so with what? cuz I dont think they are keen to return to vet ranks...though id love that its not gonna happen.

Doubt it would be removed any time soon. Probably realised that people have to go another 800+ levels after reaching lv50. They also wont just remove it, it needs replacing with another system that converts cp into whatever they have next.

Don't underestimate the number of people who play this game primarily due to its RPG nature. Without the ability to advance and refine a character their only options are to roll new toons or to play a different game.

We don't know anything about what ZOS is doing with CP.

The only clear 100% true fact is that Rich Lambert said they're pausing the increases to CP cap each update whilst they evaluate the system. Anything other than that is speculation and conjecture.

My take is that it replaces lots of the % buffs with flat values like they do on races, this should make the game easier to balance as its harder to make OP builds.

Not even rumour, just twisted words coming from fearmongering buttcracks. There was never a single mention if removal, only halting. Stupid people heard halt and write removing.

You should know by now that everything ZOS does they will change it later on down the line.

This happened before when they changed from vet to cp they just raised cap every other update.
This is also a good marketing tool to help sell the necromancer. Allows you to get to cap or a little ahead so you can level a new toon without falling behind
