Question about buying ESO Summerset on retail

I am thinking on buying the summerset expansion. Although I already own the base game and Morrowind I would like to get the game on retail to have the physical copy of the game. Is there any way to just keep the summerset expansion for me and give the base game to a friend of mine? So theoretically if I get the summerset on retail I get the base game too. I won't be in need of the base game as I already own it so I thought I could give it to my friend.

Hmm, i had a similar question here recently around the Gold pack and Imperial. I just wanted the goodies, and both of those come as codes with the disc so yes a £5 copy on eBay, i used the code and could give away the disc if i wanted.

However to your point im unsure what comes in Summerset full boxed product, code or something on disc that enables the chapter

I'll add tho, Elysweyr is £20 and you get Summerset now. That's digital, and your mate could buy base pr even Gold ESO for £5-10 on eBay right now which may work out cheaper.

Well. If we assume that the content in Summerset retail pack is like the Morrowind retail pack that I bought, then it should contain both a code for game activation and a disc. I activated the game with the code because I don't have a disc driver on my pc so I don't really know what is the deal with the disc, but what I believe is that with the disc you don't actually activate the game. You can just install the game and then you will need an ESO account in which the game is already activated. So if this theory is correct then getting Summerset on retail would be pointless because I won't be able to give the base game to my friend anyway.

Actually there is no particular reason that I want Summerset on retail. I just want to have all the game's expansion on retails for my collection .
