I have started my journey to try & become a versatile Templar healer & acquire sets. In my research I have found it is commonly said a good healer should have this set, and this one, and that one…but not much on combos and why. Also, last night I was able to start using my first dungeon set but I can see trying to have a broad range of sets and being able to mix & match is going to be a challenge to manage. I would also like to have focus on what sets I am trying to acquire.
I think from a party perspective healer sets can be broadly defined as having offensive, defensive, or aid purposes, and I have listed my thoughts on the most commonly recommended sets below.
Offensive
Olorime – Major courage
SPC – Major courage
Infallible Aether - Minor vulnerability
Defensive
Sanctuary - +12% healing
Healing Mage (Mending) – reduce weapon dmg of enemies
Aid
Kagrenac’s – decrease resurrect time by 25%
Defence / a bit Offensive
Worm’s Raiment - +4% healing & reduce magicka of party members by 4%
Defence / Aid / Offensive
Jorvuld’s - +2% healing & increase duration of buffs/shields by 40%
A player could go all offensive by using Olorime/SPC and Infallible Aether. All defensive by using Sanctuary and Mending. And then there are a lot of possible combos in between.
What combos do players recommend/like, in what situations and why/examples (also like to hear about sets not listed above)? The only sets I see that wouldn’t go together are SPC & Olorime because of same buff. I am thinking such info could help guide me in adjusting sets selection during dungeons to meet the performance/abilities of the party. E.g. they are getting one shot a lot…need to bring in Kagrenac’s.
Many seem to recommend SPC (& Olorime) as base set so do I acquire every set piece thus making it easier to mix this with whatever items I acquire of the 2nd set I choose to use? What other base sets do players like? What if I also had the full set of Sanctuary pieces so I had a defence base set giving me both offensive and defensive base set options?
