ESO worth returning to 2019?

Hey all,

Left game a few months after initial launch. Just wondering if things have improved from how they were last time namely stability in pvp and latency and has anything changed for the better pve wise?

Disregard the forums right now, people are just going nuts over the upcoming changes, and they are the vocal minority.
Give the game a try, it's much, much better than it was at launch.

Well... A whole lot has changed since then. I would Google "one tamriel" for starters and then "champion points" to give you an idea about world and progression changes. Start there and please don't pay too much attention to the forums ATM, some changes to the racial passives are going to pts this week and are a bit controversial for some folks. That said, I've enjoyed ESO more in the past two and a half years than I did in 2014. Cheers!

If you left in the launch year than loads has changed.

PvP stability has not though, so if that's your main area of focus be warned.

Games free to play if you own an account though so download and give it a go? Costs you nothing but the time downloading.

i am also wondering if i should install the gaime again. gamebreaking issue for me was dungeon finder bug. when with full group we had 'somewhat declined'message. has it been fixed already? or infinite loading screen?

Dungeon finder bug is there, mostly only happens when there is heavy system load.

Load screens are mostly fixed, but sometimes happen still. More of an issue in PvP.

They said they'll fix the Cyrodiil lag in the next 6-8 months in their last live stream. We'll have to wait and see tho

No they didnt

They said they will try to improve character loading, and something about area loading / rendering if I recall correctly.

They did definetly not state that they FIX cyrodiil!

maybe the performance increase they try to make for characters can improve cyro, clipping IC from cyro may also provide additional improvements, but it wont fix the overload the servers get when many players clash on a keep.

Actually, I think Rich said they were optimizing character asset loading, which could have benefits to performance. Hopefully, he said it right. That is not his area, really.

There is no magic cure for Cyrodiil lag. At least not one they are considering. We will get incremental tweaks.

OFC its better, else it would have died years ago

@OP I would suggest you try the game when the first DLC of this year is released, since there are some probably big changes comin, and if you start now, and like it then it may be a bummer when the patch drops.

Thank you very much for the insightful comments I still have a Imperial Edition account its currently updating (hopefully) the latest patches needed to check it out again. If i Like the changes ill consider buying a few expansions to press on with the game.
