Magicka DK Build - BattleRoar | 4k spell damage | Insane Burst

At last, my MagDK PvP build for the Murkmire patch is uploaded.

Basic information:
* Rattlecage + BSW + BloodSpawn
* 5 light 2 heavy
* Flame staff / Ice staff
* 4k spell damage buffed (Nearly 3k unbuffed)
* 34k/ 30k resists buffed (+3k crit resist)
* 12.5k spell penetration (with eledrain)

Nope. Your main resource gain comes from embers+eledrain on target(s) for combustion passive + magickasteal, potions and your battleroar passive when using ults.
However if you are on the defense running from multiple enemies and don't have the time to reapply debuffs to enemies or don't want to use your ult yet, meditate is a really good way of regaining resources.
I even use it for 2 seconds in open field to gain some stamina when my pool is depleted to not get permaCC'd sometimes.

If not essential, surely you're better off running a source of sorcery and dropping rattlecage. There is nothing optimal about rattlecage if you don't need the bar space.

I disagree. Rattle is a very decent set for SPD stacking, and I would honestly rather use an additional skill such as Cauterize instead of swapping it for something like Axiom. I do, however, use meditate - which I wouldn't do if I didn't feel like it was worth the slot. As I've said in my previous message, I think it's a great skill that helps you in many scenarios even if it's somewhat possible to play without

Thanks for the build. I've been tempted to drop Entropy and run Rattlecage so I can run Inner Light or Engulfing lately so I might actually try this.

I can dig it. I personally don't like rattle but it isn't a bad set. Especially like your use of ele wall. Need more unique builds out here!

Thanks! And I definitely agree, I don't like how people tend to stick to what is familiar. More players should be exploring new options and playstyles

@Taylor_MB ran a lightning staff ele wall with rattle cage pre-wolfhunter. posted build here probably 4 months ago if not more.

procc'd vulnerability and dusted on the snb bar. firestarter was the name I think.

That's a cool idea I've seen around. Seems quite effective.
I personally like my flame/ice combo for the damage boost on front and a combination of the root/slow/maim from blockade, and blocking effectiveness from ancient knowledge passive on back.

BTW Saw your video on kristopher eso's pvp battles, good fights!

Please update for Elsweyr I don't use your build exactly but it always gives me the perfect framework in making a PvP build work for me

The fact you recalled my old build before the new patch and wanted an Elsweyr update to it enough to comment here and ask me to make it means a great deal!!

I do intend on making a video for the Elsweyr-ready version of the build soon. I'll be working towards releasing it the first week of Elsweyr, I just don't like making build vids on the PTS because things could still change before live and make the vid out of date instantly.
