Sunspire apreciation thread

Just wanted to say how gratefuI am for the announcement of Sunspire, which is exactly what I feel the high end PvE community wants.
A full trial with dragon bosses, each with their own mechanics to learn. Much like MoL (one of, if not the best trial in my opinion).
With each boss having a hard mode, that is just awesome.

Thank you so much for listening and giving me (and a lot of the raiding community) exactly what we were after.
What an awesome announcement, cannot wait to try it out!

After getting Cloudrest in Summerset i swore that i wouldn't buy the next chapter if it wouldn't offer a full trial. Not because Cloudrest is bad, but because it's a mini trial that should come with a zone DLC and not a chapter if anything.

ZOS just bought me back. I'm legitimately hyped for this one

Yeah this is exciting news. Exactly what ZOS needed to do to reinvigorate the endgame PvE community. I can see a lot of people who have quit or are taking a break coming back to the game for this trial.

    Yes it was, https://www.twitch.tv/videos/364505191## 49:30

'It is focussed entirely on dragons'
Dragons have overrun the ancient temple of Alkosh and claimed it as their own. You and your 12-player team must enter Sunspire, explore the temple, and put a stop to its new inhabitants. Exclusive gear and collectibles await those brave enough to stand against Nahviintaas and his followers.

Exactly this, many groups have disbanded recently due to the lack of a full trial. It's really great to see ZOS show some love for the raiding community with this update. Really excited for the future and hope we see many groups and players return.

    Care to elaborate why?
For many players the core of the game is the trials, as we get them so rarely they need to have enough content to keep us interested and engaged in progressing them for a long time.
For many players once they get figured out that's the core of the game gone for a long time. These longer trials allow for much more progression and time to understand each mechanic.
The main argument for arena style trials was for the ability to change the difficulty more granularity. However, with this style of trial we get the best of both worlds. You have 3 (or 4) dificulities for each boss and presumably can set each one so you can progress on the hard mode of each boss independantly as you progress through the trial.
Giving us a lot more content to progress through, and allowing us to not feel as if we are constantly doing the same exact fight over and over again.

I just reallllllly hope they are designed well enough so both ranged AND melee characters are viable (or even needed).

vAS HM and vCR HM full of ranged magicka toons just drives me nuts.

The only time I could appreciate a mini-trial is if it came as a DLC pack (like a dungeon dlc) or when it comes with a DLC zone like CWC. In a full chapter? It'd have to be a full trial, no doubt.

    I completely agree.
Luckily, unlike vAS+2 and vCR+3, the longer form trials have had a pretty good track record of being both melee and ranged friendly.

To be fair two of the "bosses" of MoL are literally just trash packs thrown at you over and over. Really it has 3 full on unique bosses.

I agree though we needed a full trial. Mini trials are fine for DLC <Like clockwork city>, but its underwhelming to buy a chapter and get a small raid.

I don't think anyone was claiming MoL has more than 3 bosses, and I am pretty confident Sunspire will have 3 bosses aswell. But I, and many others, would much prefer 3 fleshed out bosses with though out mechanics, like MoL. Than 5 bosses with poor mechanics.

I love the minitrials, they're excellent for repeated runs and farming, and the different configs made it super simple to do teaching runs or runs with PUGs.

I definitely miss the full trials though. They had so much more going on, and it made it a more satisfying experience for me overall.

Yeah, I agree. A chapter should give us enough content to progress through and spend a good amount of time learning and practicing a variety of well thought out mechanics.
