Predictions for the Big Announcement

NemisisNaxus911
So I'm not sure if anyone else is quite as excited for this announcement as I am, because I'm REALLY excited for Tuesday, so while we wait I thought I might find out what everyone is predicting will be announced during the stream. Below I've outlined my predictions for what might be announced during the stream. Actually, these are kind of my predictions for the entire year, but since all of their posts seem to be very vague on whether or not they will talk about more than just the upcoming chapter. Now I know there are a lot of factors to consider here, like the fact that they've told us that the chapter will likely be in Q2, so it would make no sense not to talk about Q1 as well. However, it is possible that they might release the chapter in Q1 and switch up the content schedule. This is the year of their 5th anniversary, so anything seems possible this year.

1 - Spiral Skein - I think this may finally be the year that we see this DLC enter into the game. It would provide a drastically different art style and stand out from the rest of the game, making this year seem particularly special. I imagine this would come out in the first quarter if the chapter doesn't release then. Additionally, since we already know that the assets for it are in the game, it wouldn't be too hard for them to create a whole DLC around this. Additionally, I imagine they would add value to this DLC by including a solo or two-player Arena similar to Maelstrom Arena. Just like Clockwork City had the Asylum Sanctorium and Murkmire had Blackrose Prison, this would provide a nice piece of additional content for those who enjoy instanced activities of this nature.

2 - Elsweyr - After all of the datamines and all of the leaks, I don't think I need to justify this one too much. In addition to the obvious introduction of the necromancer class, I think this chapter will be a little beefier than previous installments since they likely want to make this one a big seller. I think they will create additional value for this chapter by likely including 2 Trials, or one Trial and one Arena. I imagine this will finally be where we will see Trial #6, since I consider Cloudrest and Asylum Sanctorium to be Mini-Trials. I imagine this will also come with all of the standard fillings like 6 Delves, 2 Public Dungeons, 1 massive Zone or a few normal-sized Zones, and of course new story content. I think that if they do include only one Trial with this chapter, they will likely include one or two Group Dungeons, to satisfy the desperate need for more group content. I also think that dragons will come into play as large world bosses similar to Dark Anchors or Abyssal Geysers. These world boss type encounters will be more mechanical and more similar to Dungeon or Trial bosses, but in the open world.

3 - Vampire Dungeon Pack - After getting Wolfhunter, I can't imagine that a vampire dungeon pack would seem too crazy of a concept. Maybe they could expand upon the lore of vampirism in some way and include two new Group Dungeons that will tell some new stories in this way. I know a lot of people would love some more content themed around their vampires, and I would personally love and expansion of the art style associated with it. They could also revamp the skills for vampires as well, like they did with Wolfhunter.

4 - Shivering Isles - I know that I have two Zone-based DLCs on this list that take place in realms of Oblivion, but hear me out. If you look at all of the content that's been release for the Elder Scrolls Legends card game, a lot of it follows in the same path of what we already have available in ESO. That's why I was delighted to see that their Isle of Madness expansion was announced a couple of days ago. This might mean that we might finally return to the realm of the mad god sometime soon. Again, this might be another prime chance for them to introduce a new Arena into the game in the form of a Chaos Arena of some sorts. This would also come with a Zone and story DLC and the usual fillings.

Bonus Prediction - Winterhold - I also think that we might see a Winterhold DLC sometime this year. If spellcrafting is really coming as part of the chapter this year, the College of Winterhold might be a great introduction to that particular brand of magic. I imagine that a medium-sized zone and traditional story content would accompany this. I only included one zone from mainland Tamriel in my predictions because it seems like they are keeping a good pace of introducing the remaining provinces with yearly chapters each taking on the remaining lands of each. I imagine that they will be lumping all of the remaining lands of Skyrim and Hammerfell into chapters at some point, so it would seem that they would want to shy away from parting out these potentially huge chapters into too many smaller DLCs.

There are my predictions for what I think might be announced on Tuesday. I do believe that they will announce more than just the chapter (Elsweyr), but I'm not yet sure how much. Let me know what you think will be announced, or what you hope is on the way! Also, don't forget to tune into the stream so that we can all unlock that pet!

    1. I doubt we'll ever get Spiral Skein, many of the assets were already used in Summerset and we dealt with Mephala last year. I don't see any reason for this to become a DLC - ever.

    2. Granted. Elsweyr Chapter is pretty much a given at this point.

    3. I would like to have a Vampire DLC reminiscent of the Werwolf DLC but I doubt we get it this year. I mean we're getting Dragons, Elsweyr and most likely Necromancers in the Chapter - and on top of that Vampires now? Sounds very bloated to me. I'm stoked for this in the future (maybe next year?) though.

    4. I would love to have this but see 3. - same issues. Sheogorath content is always amazing but I'm not sure if it fits the recent storytelling.

What we know: 2019 will have an overarching storyline that spans over the four quarterly releases this year. This means all of the DLCs have to be intertwined somehow (not like last year where pretty much all releases were their own little content).

What does this mean: when we come up with predictions, we should try to elaborate a storyline for the DLCs imho. I have no clue where to fit Elsweyr + Dragons though. So somehow a storyline culminating in the release of Western Skyrim sounds... likely.

    Not a predictions but hopes I have;

•Peryite or Namira involved in a big way. In the data mine there is a skin and mounts that are labelled Purified. Now this could hint at either Daedric prince as both have strong connections to the information we have so far (peryite being famous for diseases you could purify from and namira being the big bad for the kitties of elsweyer) if either are used I do hope we have another Daedric plane to adventure in.

•Adamantine tower, I would absolutely love for this to be used at some point. It’s the only “tower of note” left in Tamriel that hasn’t been used, besides red Mountain itself but you’re around it a lot in Morrowind

•western Skyrim/winterhold, as the op says, with dragons brings a strong connection to some form of Skyrim fun. The winterhold introduction would be a nice way to get spell crafting into the game but would that be too much? If Skyrim is used in this story arc however I would hope they focus on....

•Labyrinthian, might be a nice tie in to explain how the undead dragon got there or even Blackreach and have that dragon explained

There’s much to predict and hope for though, less than two days before the big reveal or the datamine after the patch maintenance tomorrow for all servers

I'm looking forward to finding out what the pre-order bonus is going to be, and which of those cool things we have seen in the datamine are going to be included with the collector's edition.

I don't think we'll find out much more than we already know about the Chapter's content. The reveal videos are very short and not very informative. The reveal videos for Summerset and Morrowind are still on the ESO website. I think they are worth watching again now so that we can set some realistic expectations about what we might see tomorrow.

Most of all I'm looking forward to seeing how uncomfortable Rich is in pants, and keeping an eye on the number of viewers.

I think the pre order bonus might be the dro mo horse mount that was datamined a while ago but I’m excited too

I have no idea where you get half of these... I understand that people want I lot of things for themselves but it's different from "predictions". It's what you want to see, a wishlist. What we might see must be based on the clues we have.

Spiral Skein was the part of Summerset and it's prologue - it's too soon for it being featured again so no. Shivering Isles was the part of Mages Guild questline in the base game and it's Chapter material because of it's size so no.

With all the hints we actually got - Winterhold or something Skyrim-related probably for Q1 (sound effect of the cold wind on the Tablet stream + picture of Riverwood hen has recreated Riverwood + dragons and tablet itself), Elsweyr which is confirmed, Cyrodilic Nibenay or Colovia content (Tharn + picture of Twilight Auroran warhorse has preciously unseen Cyrodilic landscape) and something Colored Rooms related (again, Summerset hints + picture of Twilight Auroran warhorse has statue of Meridia in Cyrodilic landscape + datamined purified creatures and skin).

My gosh, I can't wait for Colored Rooms stuff for sure if that's the case... Meridia is my favorite daedric prince & my khajiit magplar is a priestess of her, so a purified skin would be awesome too! I hope there is a Meridia statue in the Baandari Crates btw.

    I very much like this.

Honestly, Winterhold + Spellcrafting for either Q1 or Q3/Q4 would make so much sense in that regard. Maybe rather later this year and not as introduction to Q2's Elsweyr Chapter.

We also have Zenith Auroran warhorse this month, which is don't look like a filler because it's the end of the month (i.e. after big announcement) + ESOPlus tempo exclusive. Previous warhorse and Auroran armor was released after Summerset early access.

Winterhold and SC will be good at any poin this year, but we still don't know the nature of SC and how it changed since initial concept. My bet on cosmetic changes and sill re-skin of sorts, otherwise it will be heavy on balance.
But we need an introduction to the tablet so Q1 for it's origins seems the most likely.

I'd also like to point that according to datamine all DLC's thes year must be connected into one big 4 parts story, so you need not forget this in your predictions.

I predict that we will get that Chapter first to start Q1 off. And i hope that's true. Waiting until June to get the Necromancer will be brutal.

I heard that Peryite will somehow play into the dragons returning. On a Youtube video, but he was guessing. But he had a sound argument. Made sense to me at the time.

Not a prediction, but i could see a vampire dlc in the works. Possibly a vampire lord temporary transformation like that werewolf brute one we got from MoS. Gives Zos and excuse to revamp (lol) the vampire skill line like the werewolves.
