So I'm not sure if anyone else is quite as excited for this announcement as I am, because I'm REALLY excited for Tuesday, so while we wait I thought I might find out what everyone is predicting will be announced during the stream. Below I've outlined my predictions for what might be announced during the stream. Actually, these are kind of my predictions for the entire year, but since all of their posts seem to be very vague on whether or not they will talk about more than just the upcoming chapter. Now I know there are a lot of factors to consider here, like the fact that they've told us that the chapter will likely be in Q2, so it would make no sense not to talk about Q1 as well. However, it is possible that they might release the chapter in Q1 and switch up the content schedule. This is the year of their 5th anniversary, so anything seems possible this year.
1 - Spiral Skein - I think this may finally be the year that we see this DLC enter into the game. It would provide a drastically different art style and stand out from the rest of the game, making this year seem particularly special. I imagine this would come out in the first quarter if the chapter doesn't release then. Additionally, since we already know that the assets for it are in the game, it wouldn't be too hard for them to create a whole DLC around this. Additionally, I imagine they would add value to this DLC by including a solo or two-player Arena similar to Maelstrom Arena. Just like Clockwork City had the Asylum Sanctorium and Murkmire had Blackrose Prison, this would provide a nice piece of additional content for those who enjoy instanced activities of this nature.
2 - Elsweyr - After all of the datamines and all of the leaks, I don't think I need to justify this one too much. In addition to the obvious introduction of the necromancer class, I think this chapter will be a little beefier than previous installments since they likely want to make this one a big seller. I think they will create additional value for this chapter by likely including 2 Trials, or one Trial and one Arena. I imagine this will finally be where we will see Trial #6, since I consider Cloudrest and Asylum Sanctorium to be Mini-Trials. I imagine this will also come with all of the standard fillings like 6 Delves, 2 Public Dungeons, 1 massive Zone or a few normal-sized Zones, and of course new story content. I think that if they do include only one Trial with this chapter, they will likely include one or two Group Dungeons, to satisfy the desperate need for more group content. I also think that dragons will come into play as large world bosses similar to Dark Anchors or Abyssal Geysers. These world boss type encounters will be more mechanical and more similar to Dungeon or Trial bosses, but in the open world.
3 - Vampire Dungeon Pack - After getting Wolfhunter, I can't imagine that a vampire dungeon pack would seem too crazy of a concept. Maybe they could expand upon the lore of vampirism in some way and include two new Group Dungeons that will tell some new stories in this way. I know a lot of people would love some more content themed around their vampires, and I would personally love and expansion of the art style associated with it. They could also revamp the skills for vampires as well, like they did with Wolfhunter.
4 - Shivering Isles - I know that I have two Zone-based DLCs on this list that take place in realms of Oblivion, but hear me out. If you look at all of the content that's been release for the Elder Scrolls Legends card game, a lot of it follows in the same path of what we already have available in ESO. That's why I was delighted to see that their Isle of Madness expansion was announced a couple of days ago. This might mean that we might finally return to the realm of the mad god sometime soon. Again, this might be another prime chance for them to introduce a new Arena into the game in the form of a Chaos Arena of some sorts. This would also come with a Zone and story DLC and the usual fillings.
Bonus Prediction - Winterhold - I also think that we might see a Winterhold DLC sometime this year. If spellcrafting is really coming as part of the chapter this year, the College of Winterhold might be a great introduction to that particular brand of magic. I imagine that a medium-sized zone and traditional story content would accompany this. I only included one zone from mainland Tamriel in my predictions because it seems like they are keeping a good pace of introducing the remaining provinces with yearly chapters each taking on the remaining lands of each. I imagine that they will be lumping all of the remaining lands of Skyrim and Hammerfell into chapters at some point, so it would seem that they would want to shy away from parting out these potentially huge chapters into too many smaller DLCs.
There are my predictions for what I think might be announced on Tuesday. I do believe that they will announce more than just the chapter (Elsweyr), but I'm not yet sure how much. Let me know what you think will be announced, or what you hope is on the way! Also, don't forget to tune into the stream so that we can all unlock that pet!
