Never been that into Cryodiil, I've always preferred BG. Midyear Mayhem makes BG a great way to get AP, therefore, that is what I will play. Now here is my rant:

Firstly, Capture the Relic, arguably the worst gamemode, capture the flag with 3 teams, who's idea was that? But aside that, I just came out of a Battleground game, easily played 20 - 30 this event already, and none like this. It was against way higher ranks than my team, which I don't really have a problem with, but I'd though I'd mention it anyway; the game was 4v4v3 the entire 15 minutes. No one from our team even left, we just never got our last player. If we were in a Deathmatch, we could have still played well, however due to the gamemode we left with 0 points.

What's with the lack of players in teams? This is the most popular time for PvP, come on ZOS don't give us half teams against a bunch of Overlords etc.

Yeah i agree there is something wrong with the team builder. Often you see 2 players sitting there ans then the team with 3 gets a fourth instead of evening it out.

Mind you deathmatch isnt as bad as flag games or relic when you are a man down.

It’s the garbage MMR. Was never a problem until ZOS introduced it. If you don’t play BGs regularly, you likely have a low MMR. The high PVP ranks you’re seeing right now are likely Cyrodiil regulars running BGs while waiting on their campaign queues. They’ll have low MMRs if they don’t play often. You didn’t get a fourth player because the other teams likely roflstomped you too quickly for the MMR to place an appropriately ranked player on your team.

The MMR system is incredibly flawed. ZOS needs to get rid of it.

Cap the Relic can be fun, but it is the game-mode I personally feel least in control over what happens, which can make it astoundingly not-fun when *** goes down the wrong way.

The queue system has been broken so long I dont think this event will prompt ZOS to bother fixing it beyond whatever tweaks they made at the end of the Undaunted event.

As for the other stuff, its been long known that the current way MMR is used to group people (heck not even group, just decide on the total pool of players in a BG) is bad, giving long queue times and high MMR to people who just play a lot. That one we really might be able to get ZOS to look into if we keep talking about it. Maybe. If ZOS listen. Legend has it they have. Maybe once.

Crazy King and Capture the Relic are great. They force you to work as a team or get destroyed trying. I've been in many matches where one of the teams is a premade, the one I'm on communicates and plays together to win the match or come a close second.

Right now during this event there are people with no experience with trying BG's for the first time, which is fine, just a lot of 'deer caught in the headlights' moments so the teams are very unbalanced.

I will agree that the problem with broken qeues and undermanned teams is because of the horrible state the games servers are in.

Love CTR. Had one match during last year's Mayhem where I was literally the only person to score. And that was before I even had swift jewelry.

Hmm I need to queue for some bgs tonight.

Just separate solo que from group que it will be a lot better. At least you will not get enemy with much better teamwork.

Events bring out the thumb less and as the population of potatoes playing BG's rises then so does their natural enemy, the trolls who like nothing better than getting a group of their fanboi's together and running over a group of potatoes and giggling about it. Its all they have to make them feel good.
