How do you stay entertained in this game?

Nothing makes me go "" WOW!" anymore
It's just, same old skills, same old setup.
It doesn't feel like i can build my character how i want to.
Different character but same skills.
I dunno, maybe i'm tapped out of this game.

Generally over time I've changed the content I'm doing to keep it fresh, setting new goals. But at time i know part of what you are feeling

I miss the build diversity we used to have with Sorc. MagDW, lots of options, yolo damage or sustain builds or etc. With the 2018 changes we got more and more pigeon holed, double staffs, reach or pulse meta, and now more tanky, impen same as eveyeone else etc etc. Very obvious burst so i know what you mean. That's taken alot of the zing away.

Classes need better balance and more diversity. The path they have gone to allow every class to do every role has flattened things. And yet rather than fox they add another class because it sounds cool / will sell. I struggle with that.

I'm feeling the same ennui these days. Been playing for 3 1/2 years and I'm starting to get bored with the game. I'm not the least bit excited for the coming DLC. I still log on every day, at least to collect the daily rewards, but often that's about all I do. Probably just need a long break.

Take a break. Burnout is a real thing and if a game isn't entertaining you anymore, it's time for some self care. Renew the fun in your life and come back when you want to play again.

Test out a new class and/or role/playstyle, some new sets maybe to spice things up, go for some themed build you like. So many different ways to play this game if your're not aiming to be on top of the leaderboards (which most people don't).

Maybe take a break from PvE/PvP depending on what you're doing to get some new stuff going on for you.

Or you can just quit the whole combat thing and fish, decorate your house, collect furniture and/or recipes, be a thief and steal/launder stuff, craft stuff, collect motifs, be a trader and buy cheap and sell expensive, start a guild just to hang out with people or hunt down all your achievements.

If these suggestions don't get you going in any direction, maybe it's time to take a break

Sometimes I’ll find a new player and help them improve their gameplay. Taking the role of the teacher can be very satisfying. Accumulating wisdom but not sharing it with others seems like a waste in ESO and in real life.

I do as much different content as possible.

A couple weeks ago, I got master angler.
Last week, completed Grand Master crafter.
Around 2-3 months ago, I was heavy on the PvP side.
Last month I was more in pve.
Now I’m back in PvP, and so it goes.

Also, taking a break doesn’t hurt. Maybe you should do that until the next chapter comes around.

My advice is to mix it up a bit! I play a dragonknight tank however just to make it interesting I sometimes use a bow or staff in over content! Works a treat for me 😊

the emotional connection to characters has been significantly deteriorated over recent patches with BIS race/classes become more and more potent. Also the heavy reduction in "play how you want to play". I find fun right now, through stupid and whacky pvp builds and helping other players progress in pve ect, outside of the min max magnb/plar BIS raids.

I took a year long break and I can't stop playing since I've returned. My wife thinks I'm addicted to it. In about four months, I took 5 characters to 50, and main to 500 CP. I don't even grind or use xp pots.

Last night I did my first ever trial in four years. Cloudrest. It was super fun. A little break will do wonders.

I just troll like really REALLY hard on another online game. Just get all that anger and frustration out of my system. After a few hours I feel better and get back to my usual ESO routine. :>

ESO is a really good MMORPG but I cannot find any WOW moment .

One more thing , ZOS , please don't build any events / rewards base on the daily mission , it's freaking bored , some of us run the same dungeons over 500 times , don't you guys think so ?

Take a break is the best really. I plan to return and play the Necromancer. Last time I played was Summerset. When I return I'll have a few new zones to play through too.

Play PvP...you cant expect to do the same dungeon and same trial over and over and over again and still enjoy it like the way you used to, in PvP every fight is different and classes have way more diversity between them, theory crafting is much more of a thing since there isnt one absolute clear meta like there is in PvE.
This isnt to say that PvP is perfect, it has a ton of issues, but at least it's not doing the same thing over and over again.

Well, I use to pvp and do trials with friends for hrs upon hrs. Them morrowind came outs, half of my friends left. The rest of us stayed and carried on. Then nerfmire came out, more of my friends left. No all my guilds are pretty much dead along with the sorc I pvp'd and did trials on. Meanwhile depending on the time of the day everyone but me has jumped on to whatever faction owns the map and begins to server zerg down the empty alliances just to qualify for end of campaign rewards. Meanwhile meanwhile one of the 3 friends i still have left on this game and i are trying to 2v2 in the middle of nowhere with some random red gankers because were fraction loyalist so no faction jumping and zerging is out because our 500 player ad loyal pvp guild is dead and what players are on are faction jumping, (goes back to original thought) we trying to 2v2 in the middle of nowhere and the lag is acting like were in the middle of a 3 faction last emp keep battle from the good old days of scourge

so a for the last 3 ish months ive been logging in to message ppl back, donate stuff to my trader guild and log off to stare bored at my ceiling or watch youtube or *** on the forums about how my sorc is trash up until i got rdr2 then i log off to play that or come *** on the forums about how my sorc is trash

oh sometimes when im waiting for ppl to message back in game before i log off i go on youtube to or check richs twitter (nice table rich and nah my liquor store guy knows me by name too, guy that works at the reservation where i buy my cigs too ((smoking is bad rich, dont start. Its tough to find quality raid and pvp guilds that everyone goes out for a smoke break every 45 mns))

pro tip tho, if you do start smoking rich, find gms who also smoke. Aint nobody arguing with the gm over there smoke breaks

I had the same feeling few months ago. I was just logging in to do writs and daily rewards and a horse training on my 10th char. Idropped daily writs as I got too many surveys and jewellery writs noone is going to buy/craft them. So now I just log in to do the last 2 I mentioned. Few minutes that's it.

To be honest stories not always interest me. I've not done Clockwork nor Murkmire, not even the new dungeons. Still missing some zones like Craglorn. Game gets boring that's it. Has a good potential but same old things. Classes feel the same. No point and no time to farm everything. I'm tired of running trials and dungeons hundreds of time.

I got Assassins Creeds Odyssey after all. Amazing. Gonna stock with it for a while. Good as Witcher 3. Maybe even better combat wise. Have made things what missing from ESO.

Might check back later on ESO. We will see what this year brings.

The wow moments for me mostly come from new content now, either the visuals, story beats or enjoyable boss fights.

I generally play the content, get some achievements and then tone it back until new content comes out or I want to spend a whole weekend playing with a goal in mind.
If I play an MMO constantly just to grind I normally burn out and don't want to see it for months.

I've been with the game since launch. It happens.

A lot of people settle in and do one thing and that is all they do. There is a lot to do in this game, and it helps if you are able to change and do something else for a while.

One time, I took a break for several weeks and did nothing other than daily crafting writs. I don't normally do daily crafting writs, so that was like a vacation. I played Skyrim during this time. When I resumed playing, I stopped doing the crafting writs.

Due to the end-of-year events, my normal play was completely disrupted this year. The event fatigue is real, so I am taking a break from the game. This time, all I have to do is spend a few minutes getting daily rewards on NA and EU. This is sort of a "keep the lights on" while I am off playing another game. I have not settled what game to play, but it will probably be Civilization or Stellaris.
