✭✭✭✭✭>:(Oh good grief. Can't BELIEVE the filter got the name of a viable cat breed! I had one, long long years back. He was a rescue, Vegas didn't really agree with him. He got hit by a car in the middle of Fremont Street of all places, and I paid for him to have a plate in his leg so he could walk.... with a major limp.
He was such a lovely boy. I named him Rahjah - because he was SO regal. He loved me and daughter, hated first husband (should have paid attention.... cats ALWAYS know....)
He lived a good long life with me - with the limp. He was also one HELL of a mouser, which I REALLY appreciated - the rental house was.... infested....3 -

This is one huge cat. Serious. Look up "Maine cat" and check out the registry pics etc. Rahjah was knee high to me - I was at that time about 5'7", so.... he was NOT tiny. Even now, my knees are a good 20 inches off the ground.

Awwwwwwwwww he's so cuuuuteeeeee!!! Must have been one heck of a monster cat indeed! Almost like a pocket senche-raht, those mice never stood a chance!

She lives alone up on Alaska's North Slope (LORDY I wish I did..... *sigh*). She has a couple of Rotts - and last year, three of the Maines, mom and two kits.
A bear (she thought) tried to get into the house a month or so back. The Rotts were frothing at the mouth, and mom and the kits simply slithered out the cat-flap, and ran the whatever off. She says "whatever" because - there were human footprints.... not bear....
She blew it. The rifle was in the kitchen, and not loaded. Bet she never does that again. Now me, I wouldn't have an unlocked cat flap anywhere, not even here (which is pretty civilized considering) because critters up to and including possum, rackoons (eh, yeah, ain't spelled right, hope the filter is confuzzled), feral cats and dogs etc. can get in. Don't need any of it. ESPECIALLY skunks.1 -

Wow that all sounds pretty scary, I'm glad we have none of that where I'm from. Gotta respect people living with pets in neighborhoods or areas like that. I'd worry too much about both my pets and myself.0 -

Eh, I've lived out since 1990. Sure, it's not "out" like my friend in Alaska - but we're 40 miles from real groceries, fuel.... doctors, dentists - and law enforcement. So - we have our own law, as in rifles.... We don't have bears close, but there are cougar, coyote packs (and feral dog packs too), bobcat....
Seriously, I LOVE where I live. I just wish I had real broadband. Then again, I wouldn't trade this place for a city. Nope.
Life is about trade-offs really. Lots of people don't get that. I'm WAY older than a lot of people who post here - and I do know what to trade when. Cleanest air and water in the lower 48? Yep. I'm all for that. Things can be difficult - because I have to be so very careful what I do to move snow and so on, since husband is not released to do ANYTHING much since having a vertebra repaired a couple of weeks ago. I'm not young.... yes, I'm in good shape - but one does have to be very careful.
This game helps keep me sane. So, whatever else happens, I'm playing it!1 -
