For me I am hoping a taming of undead to fulfill my darker and nuturing side.

My unrealistic dream is raising dead players in cydrolli. Thou maybe have nercomancer rez people from one shots but at lesser attrubties and consequences?

    You mean aspect? Concept?

Skeletons are the weakest cannon fodder in most games, so a necromancer should be able to summon a lot of them at once, not to be OP but just to have that evil overlord feel to it. It would just feel wrong to me to have one lousy skeleton at a time.

One giant fleshy beast at a time seems appropriate, though.

Um is, the patch that necro comes in will also contain the removal of crit on shields, shield cap and increased sorc sustain. An exceptable answer :D

I expect it will be something in between a sorc and Nightblade...

Obviously it will have some summoning skills... A bone colossus ultimate would be pretty cool. I'm guessing you will be able to summon skeletons from dead things like necromancer npcs do.

It would be nice if along with the new class "magic" damage was re-identified as "void" damage and given a status effect.

The real question is what will they nerf on Sorcs and Nightblades to make it a more desirable class? Remember what happened to the Templar when the Warden came out?

It would be nice if they reworked sorcs skill trees mainly summoning due for this chapter release. There should no longer be dual bar slotted pets, instead they should have a duration of 30 seconds with a passive that extends their duration when they hit enemies or something like that.

It's a great time and opportunity, I would hate for this new class to feel super similar to sorcs.

For their healing skills, they 100% need an ultimate that raises the dead. Aka 1 morph would be able to raise 1-3 allies instantly in a 6m targeted radius, able to cast at 28m. The cast time is instant, while the ally would have a 3 second animation of raising from the dead (invulnerable). The allies could rez with some type of buff for 10 seconds and full resources. Maybe minor protection and minor vitality - something to give them 10 seconds to get all their buffs up again.

The other morph could be offensive, allowing you to raise 4 skeletons to fight by your side. I'm reluctant to say that your ultimate would do this because I'd prefer it on a regular ability, but ZOS has been known lately trying to distance themselves from high loads on server stability and I'd assume they wouldn't want someone capable of having 8 summons running around with 1 person.

I'd find it hard to believe for this class to behave like a typical necromancer in Diablo for example where you have a swarm of skeletons at all times. If anything it would be 1 or 2 on regular abilities.

My dream is for Necromancers to be spelled correctly! a Necromancer is a learned person, an evil person, but a learned one, and should know how to spell their own job!
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Necromancers are users of Ice Magic. I think Sorcerer's already have everything in our kit to play as Necro's. Lightning + Ice magic with debilitating dark magic.

Frags + the root = necro spells

The only thing we are lacking is a pet. Maybe they can just replace clanfear with a zombie?

Ice makes sense if you need to keep a pile flesh atronach parts fresh.

    Minions, a lot of them.

One of my favorite classes i have ever played was necromancer in guild wars 1 before their minion limit was implemented. They were the ultimate turtle class, slow to start but once it got going nothing could stop them. I really miss that kind of game play but don't think it'll work in eso the way the game plays atm. BUT i would love a class built around temporary pets that are weaker but i can get more of them out at once. Also just to play a REAL necromancer in a ES game would be nice. In morrowind (most fun for a summoner imo) and oblivion the undead we could summon weren't undead, they were deadra we summoned into the form of undead, and skyrim was just bad at everything even tho it had necromancy in the form of a single spell type (reanimation) i was limited to 1 corpse, 2 if i picked the star. I wanted to be the like the NPC necromancers with a whole horde of skeletons and zombies and abominations at my command.

Also reeeeeelay want to be a lich, maby a temp one as a ult?

    - I want to be able to pull the embers of life from a corpse, or from my minions, to restore myself and/or allies (Healer tree).
    - I want to command my zombies to attack or to explode dealing Disease dmg in an AoE (please ZoS, give us a proper stamina morph pet).
    - I want my minions to have Lifesteal, healing either me or themselves, or at least the ability to inflict the Lifesteal debuff. Maybe even give Necro Major Lifesteal as a unique debuff?
    - I want to cram my allies' souls back into their corpses (Healer tree).
    - I want to cheat death by becoming a temporary Lich (Ultimate).
    - I want more stamina options from all three skill trees.
    - Like Nightblades, I want Necromancer to be fun to play from level 1. NBs have all the essentials to survive from the first unlocked skills, and it really makes the overall gameplay experience much more enjoyable.

    - I DO NOT WANT another class as clunky as Warden. Aside from Warden Bear, none of the warden skills feel like actual minions, just fancy animations which count as 'pets'. On that note, I also hope there are no lengthy cast times, and something does need to be done about command to attack being tied to Heavy Attack.
    - I DO NOT WANT a pet ultimate like say, Flesh Atronach, unless it does not need to be double-barred. Something needs to be done about pets and double-barring.
    - I DO NOT WANT delayed skills like Warden's Scorch. Having a delayed effect such as Scorch makes the toolset clunky and hard to learn.

What i'd like to see, is Necromancers specialize in Disease Damage. It is a damage type in the game that is heavily under utilized in skill trees.

I'd also like to see Necromancers be able to use Health as a resource. There are many sets which could be really good DPS sets, however they have Max Health instead of Max Stam or Magicka. It would make those under used sets more desirable.

I'd like to see Necromancers have a Pet, but do not want to see a necromancer walking around with a small horde of skeletons or zombies. Necromancers could have a skill similar to the Wardens beetles where a few skeletons charge at an enemy, and explode into disease damage when they get in range.

Necromancers could also borrow from a skill from WoW. Instead of Rezing a player, they could bring them back as an undead servent. Think of the boss from Blackheart Haven. This could have a duration of less than 20 seconds, once it is over, the player can be rezzed.

    What would I like?

A magica class that focuses on a mix of conjuration, reanimation and using magic to sap others of strength while adding it to their own.

    What don't I want?

    Pets.

    What do I expect?

Magica Destro/Destro in light armour or Stam DW+Bow in Med armour with a zombie that follows it everywhere.

I think these 3 skill lines would be best for this class and best to balance it enough to not be another sorcerer.

Blight Damage over time, slowing movement and attack speeds, applying status effects like off balance to combo with other classes

Resurrection Pets (duh) this is pretty standard one thing that would make them stand out is the option to have summoned undead apply taunt to enemies, allowing necrotank to stand out from normal face tanks.

Life Tapping So yeah healing, self heal, minion heal and team heal.

Resurrection for healers skill line. Differently from the basic resurrection, this have lower casting time and can be used from a distance, but while still requiring a soul gem, of course.

As sad as it may sound, I'm seeing a low number of minions, simply due to how poorly ZOS handles the majority of them.

IMO, you're likely to see 1 true pet minion, a Corpse Explosion Spell that leave either a fire or poison/disease ground AoE, depending on morph (think along the lines of a Bog Blight and their explosions), some Necrotic Flesh spell that's essentially just a DoT, a ghost that can CC enemies and maybe something that empowers the Necro by trading away the pet. Ultimate would be a Stationary Bone Atro w/ a basic AoE stomp and has a synergy that summons kamakazi skeletons.

To think that ZOS will do "right" by Necromancer and have a Summon Posse spell to have 2+ minions is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Dealing with conditions, and sacrificing own health.

    Transfer conditions
Works kind of like purge, but transfers conditions and debuffs and their remaining duration to target.

Swallow conditions (could be useful for a tank or healer)
Takes all the negative conditions from your team and transfers them to yourself.

    Thrive in chaos
DPS Morph: Increases spell weapon damage and resistances for each condition on you.
Tank/Heal Morph: Increases Health, mag and stamina regen and resistances for each condition on you.

    Blood Sacrifice
Sacrifice 2000 health, and animate a Bone Guardian to fight by your side for 30 sek.

Undeath (for purpose of building health regen/leaching)
You have 50% less Health, but take 50% less damage from all sources.

    Masochism
Apply conditions to your self. (for the purpose of being transferred to a target, or buff thrive in chaos.

    Plauge
AOE morph. Mark target. Every time target suffers a new condition. Nearby enemies suffer the same condition.
DPS Mprph: Mark target with plague. Every time target suffers from a condition or takes disease damage, they take additional XX damage.

    Reap conditions
deal XXX damage for each condition or debuff on the target.

Just some examples... But dealing with conditions/debuffs, and blood.
