I really doubt that. I started with Morrowind and forward. Dragons weren't in Morrowind, Dragons weren't in Oblivion except for Akatosh at the end. Dragons came in with Skyrim soooo.....

There was a Dragon in Redguard which was the game before Morrowind which is still canon in the lore and the game took place during the late 2nd Era lol.
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

And people 1000 years later in TES5 speak of them as they may have never even existed or that they’re a total myth

But yeah eso needs money so yeh dragons it is

Elsweyr is far away from the peasants of Skyrim. I won't disagree that ESO needs money, and adding Dragons and Necromancers is like printing cash, but if they do it right, there are no lore problems at all.

    @xAk_MoRRoWiNdx

Dragon NPC is not the same as dragons in the lore. There are plenty of lorebooks in Morrowind which mention dragons.

I'm not talking about Lore, I'm talking about gameplay. Also for Morrowind: lorebooks? Seriously? That's not gameplay like them flying above, or quest objectives. Your argument makes about as much sense as "Skyrim doesn't have any Dragon themes in it".

lol you're one to talk about not making sense. It's perfectly reasonable for dragons to get featured more as the games progress because they serve such a pivotal position in the lore. Just because you don't see actual dragon NPC in Morrowind and Oblivion doesn't mean they aren't an important part of history and religion in Tamriel. Heck we even had dragon bone and dragonscale armor back in Morrowind, was that too dragony for your tastes?

I'm not sure what you're finding so hard to understand here? Since Skyrim, everything has been about dragons and Skyrim screwed with everything because "Dragon Breaks, that's the explanation for everything!". Nice way to assume I hate everything dragon but okay. The dragonscale armor drops in two places, and is sold by two people so I'd hardly say that its common and Dragonbone is an Artifact.

But it's not all about dragons. And Skyrim didn't screw anything up with dragon breaks, that's been a thing since Morrowind. And the dragonscale armor from Morrowind does not drop "in two places". There are 14 counts of the Dragonscale Towershield, 11 counts of the Imperial Dragonscale Cuirass, and 9 counts of the Imperial Dragonscale Helm in the base game. Easily common enough to be considered an important part of Imperial culture, especially since other armors like Glass, Ebony, and Daedric, all have similar counts. And the Dragonbone Cuirass being an artifact only supports the idea of dragons being a lore-important part of the game series.

I love dragons when done right. Will never forget Firkraag quest in Baldur's Gate you could hear his breath from 3 levels before reaching his den. Or reading the Hobbit as kid. Also will always love the first dragon fight in Skyrim.

On the other hand I remember Dragon Age souless dragons. Oh god those were boring, but I'm (almost) sure that ESO will do a good job.

When is this Dragon train ever stopping? TES V: Skyrim, vanilla ESO quests, DRAGON BONES.
Seriously? Lets mix Khajiits and dragons now cause you know "mUh dRAgoN bREAks". This is a horrible cash grab. This better be the most riveting, interesting, God-Tier expansion know to Man to excuse this.

lul....dragons have been a huge theme of Elder Scrolls since it was created.

Akatosh the DRAGON GOD of TIME. You know.... the strongest god that remains on the aedric plane after magnus's departure with thousands of other aedric beings?

Yeah that guy created them. Or rather Alduin, the rest kind of came to be over time but they are bassically his kids and extremely important to the lore and the merethic era and the history of the nords.

it wasn't just a skyrim thing.

Everyone hears something about Dragons and Necromancy, but not everyone knows what "The Elder Scrolls" is. It is a smart move to introduce it now, can help to bring some new people to the game.

I agree the combo of dragons, Elsweyr and necromancy is strange, but I'll wait and see how it all goes together before I freak out.

If there ends up being dragons flying all over, well, that's big problem for me.
But if it's just bosses and quest related characters or something, I can work with that.

I think its the unholy alliance of the Undead Dragons and the Skooma Lords, clearly the greatest threat Tamriel, nay, All of Nirn has ever faced.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

There are so many threads raging over Dragons and Necromancy in just a few days of datamined info being posted, when we know so very little. Why are people being so quick to jump to anger like this? Wait until we know more before passing any sort of judgement, yeesh. We have no idea how any of this will tie together, there's just not enough information to justify people being mad like this.

I doubt we're gonna have dergerns flying around overhead every five minutes like we did in Skyrim; I'm banking on a there being a handful of dragons, maybe on our side, maybe not, maybe a split, but not that we're going to see them as generic mobs. Now if it turns out that we just have hordes of dragons flapflapping overhead somehow, THEN we can light our torches and grab our pitchforks to form angery mobs, but until we have any actual solid info, let's try not to get ourselves too mad over things, yeah?

I think things will be fine. I highly doubt we are going to have dragons all over the dang place, everywhere you look just more dragons. That would be lame. If we only have like a dragon or two and the story is super interesting, it will be good. Of course, it will be fun to see a new area too right?
