Each Indrik evolution will ONLY be available during that specific quarter

So on top of them adding the tickets to the crown store later, the berries to evolve your indrik to a specific type will only be available for a limited time. Like after the events for that evolution's berries are over they won't be available at all kinda limited. This seems to me like a push to make getting the different evolutions more difficult if you don't want to spend real money on tickets?

Let's say for example if someone started playing after the first couple of events, was taking a break from the game and just came back, couldn't participate in some events, etc, so they don't have the base nascent indrik yet. They still need to buy 4 feathers on top of 4 different berries, but they'd have to get the berries first if they wanted to be sure they'd get that particular evolution and get the feathers later. Then there's another batch of berries during the next section of events you'd have to get if you wanted that one, but wait you'll also have to get 4 more feathers if you already evolved your nascent indrik! That's a whole lotta tickets you'd need that we have a pretty low cap on, so if you didn't already stock up on more feathers trying to get all the different variations is going to be a royal pain unless you buy tickets through the crown store. Hopefully there will be more events with multiple tickets given a day to make this slightly less troublesome, but you get where I'm coming from with this.

Note that things also weren't made very clear by zos on how the whole indrik system would work. Like how people contacting support asking about it were told no they don't need extra feathers, and to destroy them so they could be refunded their tickets. Because of this some people didn't buy any extra feathers, or grind many extra tickets.

So what do y'all think? Am I way off base or does this seem pretty a pretty accurate assessment of this whole thing?

Edit: made better title hooray

For those that want an official source it is stated towards the end of this article:
    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/55477

Starting with the Dawnwood Indrik in Q1, each quarter this year will provide a different set of berries AND therefore a different evolution for your Nascent Indrik. We’ll share details on each quarter’s events and Indrik evolutions in the future. Please note that the Indrik Berries you can collect each quarter will ONLY be available during that quarter. Previous Indrik Berries will not return once the next quarter has begun, meaning this is your only chance to acquire this specific evolution.

I'm ok with them selling tickets, because I was prepared to spend money on the indriks I like when I first saw them and getting them free was a nice surprise. So I'd be willing to buy tickets to get ones I want (depending on the price of course).

I'm not happy about the berries only being available for 1 quarter each though. That's basically killed any thought I had of getting additional indriks (and therefore drastically reduced the chances I'll be tempted to buy tickets). Luckily the one I want most is the Dawnwood which is the first released. But after that I'll probably only get 1 more, and then only if it's not too much trouble to get tickets in-game.

Edit: And yes it sucks for people who missed previous events and are now behind on tickets/feathers, but it's better than not being able to get them at all which was another distinct possibility. If I was in that situation, or end up in that situation in future (always possible I'll miss an event for some reason) I know I'd prefer to have the option to buy them over missing out completely.

Although of course the best option would be to make tickets, feathers and berries a permanent part of the event cycle and let people work towards getting indriks in their own time. It seems strange that given people were praising ZOS for seeming to do that and talking about what a great system it is that they'd go and mess it up now, but I guess they think the chance to make a profit is worth the bad PR.

I've just been ignoring it, altogether.

I see it more that it's trying to entice people to stay in game. However, that does translate to income as when people forget about the game they don't spend money in the Store, so there's a fallback for ZOS here.

But again, it's just a fake mount in a virtual world, it's really not important, no one has to buy into all this crap. Just play the game for the stuff we enjoy. Of course, if chasing all 4 variants of some fake mount in a virtual world is important to people, by all means chase it, but I think there might be a life priority issue in such a case.

    It's just a game, not a job.

I think to the hell this Indrik.
Horrible noise, strange jumping animation like it weighs at least a ton, awfully bended front legs with inverse kinematics on (like with any horse mount). I'm not a tomato to farm some virtual 3D mount for a year.

I won't be getting the first variant of evolved Indrik then, since the berries needed are locked behind PvP content, which I do not want to engage in at all.

I do have 12 tickets, however, those would only buy me a single berry, not four, if I am not mistaken.

I think it's disappointing because it means everyone will be getting the same Indrik at the same time. It would be more fun to let us choose which one we wanted first. And more visual variety in game. But I know, it's a way to keep people playing obsessively.

Luckily only the first berry is coming with the midyear mayhem encore thing, it'd probably be a disaster if all 4 required pvp with cyrodiil as messed up as it is right now haha. The next 3 for the dawnwood will be coming with morrowind event, dark brotherhood/thieves guild anniversary, and then jester festival!

OP: So far each event has generated about 20 tickets, so people will always be able to catch up as long as they have the berries. Now, should someone who has not played at all in since the event started still be able to get all the berries/feathers when they didn't participate in any of the events? They are a reward for playing the game and taking part in the events, after all.

You can just buy the berry from the PvP event with your tickes and then participate in the other 3 PvE events to get the other ones:
Each unique Q1 event will provide you with the opportunity to buy new Indrik Berries from the Impresario:
Midyear Mayhem (In January!) – Dawnwood Berries of Bloom
Morrowind Celebration – Dawnwood Berries of Budding
Thieves Guild & Dark Brotherhood Celebration – Dawnwood Berries of Growth
Jester’s Festival – Dawnwood Berries of Ripeness
Note that the Impresario is only available during each event.

So to be sure I understand correctly, I would not buy any Dawnwood berries if I want the Opalescent Indrik. I would have to wait until those berries come out which could be awhile. I have 12 tickets so I guess I would have to hold onto them until the berries I want come out.

If I were one of those people who'd been told to do that and actually did it, I would send in a ticket asking the Feathers to be accredited back to my account.

I was really hoping myself we'd be able to get the Berries we wanted for whichever evolved Indrik we were after right from the start, rather than having to wait for the specific Berry type to be released. The first one we can get is literally the only one I don't want x__x.

    Hello
It is not very clear anyway!
It is stated that four bays are required.
That if we miss one it will be too late to catch up!
So we have to buy one each time.
On the other hand, how do you know what the indrik will be like?
Can we choose its color that's what matters to me the most;)
    Good game

PS: it takes four :) catch them all ^^

I'm all for rewards being difficult to get. (not talking about crown store) I like to put effort into something to get what I want.

But this is just annoying. My job is annoying. My video game is supposed to be less annoying than my job. :|

I agree it's fine for stuff to be difficult to get that's why we have trial skins, personalities, etc. This is just kinda lame though to make the berries limited time. I figure they should be available the same as the feathers are.

Yeah that definitely sucks. Shame the feathers or berries aren't tradeable or something because you could probably make a decent bit of gold that way since you'll have no use for the tickets for a while.

All I can say is UGH to stuff that chains you to the game to complete--yeah, there MAY be tickets available at the Crown Store for the first event, but I sure as hell won't have a lot of play time in January AND I suck at PvP. As many have noted, not everyone has the hours to commit to the game, and those of us who were with ESO from the very beginning--and have helped prop up their Crown Store sales--oftimes have many other life obligations other than this game...sigh...

I have a doctorate degree and I couldn't understand how this system is going to work over the next year from that post... way too many variables to be using pronouns when trying to describe how this works...

So somehow there's going to be a way to get more tickets (only crown store? also during the events again?) for multiple mounts if you want more than one color.

But if you want all four, or if you want any color other than the first green one and you aren't sure what you want, you have to go ahead and get the berry and SIT on it? Yes? So you could, possibly, hold all four in your currency/inventory before having to spend any, right?

At least, I think that's what the dev info. says. (?)

I have no issue with the crown store part as I knew this would, at some point, be something to spend money on (DUH! This isn't a non profit) and I figured it was also hype to get "one free" to try and drum up interest and desire and more players of course...

I just wish this explanation/description gave more specific details!

I won't be buying 3 more mounts, that's for dang sure - but I'm certainly up for doing the events regularly if that's all I have to do to at least get maybe one, or 2, more varieties. I'm still farming the events for things I didn't get last year so its not anything "extra" I've had to do. I'd like to have one more color combination.

But I hope we can just sit on the berries until we've seen better screenies/live images of them. I'm not about to use the first until I see what the others look like. If I only get the one - I certainly ain't using it on green.

Really need a FAQ for this event... or something.
