Which two light sets = Most Burst Damage

Been playing around with my magblade. Thought I would try to mimic my stamblade .....as much burst damage as possible. No concern to sustain or health. After a quick glance at a few light armor sets ( that are possible to get), I've come up with these. I'm sure many have tried different combos. Rather than theory craft, I'm curious what others have experienced.

Spinners, Innate Axiom, Juliannoas, Blight Throat, Burning Spell Weave, Caluurion Legacy, Mothers Sorrow, Queens Elegance, Spider Cultist, War Maiden.

Monster sets I have no idea.

Appreciate any feedback.

For some of those sets it really depends on how you are running your NB. Magblade is not exactly a fire breathing DK so BSW is iffy with most PvP builds I can think of.

Spinners is a good set since penetration is good in PvP but Mother's sorrow is iffy since many run inpen which reduces the benefit of stacking crit.

Also you left out Spell Strategist.

But you might want to mention what you plan to do in PvP. It would help in making an actual suggestion.

Like my stamblade, I would like to roam solo and pick off stragglers.... in Cyrodil. Zerg surf and pick off people that roam a little too farm from safety.

If the fight isn't going to be won right away, I will leave.

All offense, no defense, no sustain. So not interested in getting hit or hanging about.

Not sure what else I can add.

Id say spinners + something that fits your playstyle (abilities etc) like war maiden if the skills you wanna use are magic damage. Bright throat is good too with a little sustain. Depending on how much you want to cloak a bit sustain might be nice. And caluurions is good for noncp or in cp for a "close combat come out of stealth" playstyle like with conceiled weapon and soul harvest for example. If youre sitting at max range the travel time is too long.
For monster sets two 1 pieces or balorghs.
Just my two cents on that.

Swap spell strat with spinner, and you get the most possible burst damage. Assuming you can proc alch of course....

Spinner front, lich back bar, all SD jewelry, and 2pc willpower jewelry with whatever mundus. I know you said no sustain, but if it’s a gank build, lich on back bar will be good for the escape if gank goes south.

Spinners is the highest damage set now. Combine that with alchemist back bar is likely your best bet for most outright damage. That said, calurion + spinner + concealed using balorgh might be the most damage for ganking. It would also be interesting to just use forward momentum and either the 2h ult or soul harvest for those ganks.

With the shield changes, Mother's Sorrow is actually pretty strong. I've been running Sorrow with Julianos and Skoria and the Shadow Mundus on my Magblade. 70% Crit. Means most of my damage is critting. A few dots on a target and they melt, shields don't last long, and the crit damage modifiers boost crit damage enough that most crit resistance isn't enough to counter it entirely. It provides some solid burst damage and crit heals.

I'd be shocked if any of those sets have more burst than Caluurion's. For pure burst that has got to be the best considering every time I get ganked that's the set they are wearing and it hits super hard. If you are going for high sustained damage the other sets will probably be better, but if it's burst you want I can't see a better choice than this.

Welcome to the world of "ESO has no signifies to determine which set is best". At this point you either make a best guess based on online builds, or you hop onto the PTR to test everything yourself.

Which is why PvP is more interesting for damage dealers versus running boring ol' Spell Strategist + Siroria.

On that, we can agree, although there is still a lot of sets to work through and try if you really want to perfect a build in PVP. I got lucky with my main and selected a bunch of sets that, with only 1 change, worked as good as perfect. Dread to think of the situation id have been in had it not worked out like that.

Just out of curiosity why do you all say to go with spinners when every class in pvp is rocking some type of shield and usually has an uptime of 95% or more using shields. Sorcs (hardened ward), all DKs (sword and board), Templars (sword and board), mageblades (healing ward), wardens (spinners won't even make a dent), and stam blades just cloak and dodge roll at ad nauseum. I mean don't get me wrong, on paper spinner is the highest but in practicality it's not doing anything for you 95% of the time against most if not all classes. Wouldn't spell strategist, necropetence, shackle breaker, or even war maiden be better? Your not going to break through shields and blocking using spinners and when you do they are so many counters for your opponent to reset and get those shields back up.

Shields are boosted by impen now, so Spinners has an effect against shields. That is why Spinners is a solid option.
