Now that the details on Indrik evolution are out, I’m pissed that there is a cap on event tickets

So it’s all well and good that this whole Indrik system is too complicated in the first place, as long as people are enjoying it I’ll play along.

What’s really bothering me is that they have a cap on event tickets. I have 12 stocked up now and I would have 30 without the cap.

So ZOS is keeping tickets we earned from us and are making us buy them in the crown store instead.

On top of that they didn’t tell us ahead of time that we’d need to buy more feathers than the original four to get all different Indriks.

Yes they did. The in-game guide even says explicitly that evolving the Nascent removes it from your Collections.

If you chose not to read it then that’s on you.

If you chose to let your tickets go to the void instead of purchasing duplicate feathers (a topic which was heavily discussed on the forums not long into the second event), that’s on you.

You got to be joking. But most importantly you're not replying to my main point (capping the tickets), but jumping on my side point. Go jump on it, that's not what I am most mad about.

Let's talk about the ticket capping instead:
    • I honestly believed that the reason the tickets are capped is to protect us users from going all out OCD, trying to collect every single one.
    • I honestly believed that the extra tickets where not needed for anything.
    • I honestly believed that they wanted to protect us from the need to figure out a way to maximize the feathers we get from the tickets in light of all the constraints.

And game design-wise: Don't you think it's enough work for us players to go through all of this grinding to get that Indrik for it to be permanent? I am a product designer myself, and I couldn't in my wildest dreams have come up with the idea to ask sooo much work of players to get a single mount, then ask the same amount of work (grinding through 4 events!!) to evolve that mount once, and then do that same amount of work 6(!) more times on top of that!

Maybe the reason there are some many events is to let people who can't participate every day of every event the chance to also earn the mount and evolve. Relax.

Whats the deal here? Their game, their rules. You got the mount, right?

The most logical reason they capped feathers is literally the exact reason you are so mad.

Think about that, love or hate it, the events are used to bring players back online and keep them there for as long as possible.

Allowing you to stockpile 30 or 50 or 100 feathers would totally negate the next x events for y population who choose to grind out all they need in the first event.

Just like cp is capped at x, and y % of players will all outpace that cap raise for as long as they play.

You got one already, if you want 5 for whatever reason, i cant really think of a solid reason to refute nor justify, play the events they create as they ask you to.

I think few now there is an in game guide. How many people actually see the tutorials.\

I think the more important matter is Zos did a poor job explaining things in their "News" articles last year. We had to learn in the forums from people who found the information in obscure locations like the online help section.

That is poor corporate communication when looked at logically.

Also, when last I looked it was inaccurate. The biggie is that it said there were 20 hour cooldowns for things that actually rolled over at a fixed time each day.

Wow, amazing Fanboism. Congratulations - you found some information most people didn't know about and can profit from it. You won dudes. Why not chill rather than ramming it down the throats of everyone who didn't read the small print.

Personally, I don't much care. I got a mount. I probably could have had one extra feather somewhere along the line, but these events are grindy and unfun anyway. As someone else said, it's like a banquet (I would say more like a Shoney's cheap-ass buffet) and you can pick and choose what you want.

But I agree with the OP. The whole thing is kinda cheap. It's overly complex and confusing. Worst of all, I feel like Event Tickets are a form of Crack. We've been given a free sample with a fairly casual-friendly grind but now they will be in the Crown Store and the grind needed to get all the mounts will be extremely high to encourage Crown purchase.

There's a point where monetization becomes such that it leaves a sour taste and the game becomes unfun as a result. This might just be it, but we shall see.

I'm not surprised they did this and kept info in the dark. By doing so it forces those who want more than one indrik to have to do more events, even though they could've had more feathers by now. Gotta artificially inflate those login/activity numbers~

I'm still not impressed by all Indrik stuff. There are better mounts out there. You cant even get achievement points for it.

I like the mount, and It would be great if I could unlock all of the types available. My only regret is that I didn't buy duplicate feathers. The information on their usefulness wasn't clear enough, as well as the information about a ticket cap. I know now you can check it in the currency tab, but I didn't know that when the tickets were first introduced so I just lost some to the Void. Hail Sithis I guess.

Well put and my point exactly. That's precisely what I am worried about. Well designed events draw players back into the game and will wetten their appetite to play older content again. Overly grindy events with a sour aftertaste of monetization angles tend to drive players away from a game.

As the system is unneeded complex and the guy giving the advice did not know,

First you have the ticket cap. then you have to buy 4 different feathers who unlock on each event.
Then we have to buy 4 different berries who I also assume unlock in the next 4 events each costing 10 tickets.
At this point we can morph our indrik, then use 4 feathers to buy an new nascent indrik.

Some chance the berries will be retires after the event so unless you get manages to get the 4 berries at the end of the event you looses out the evolution at least until next year or something but they might use some different currency next year anyway.

Insted of simply selling 5 indriks with the first is 40 tickets and the later 60 perhaps the last 80.
they unlock every quarter or something.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
