Which class doesn't need nerfed? Which one needs buffed?

I've seen people calling for nerfs of:

• Nightblade (snipe and cloak)
• Dragon Knight (heavy meta)
• Warden (55k hp warden destroying)
• Templar (stamina warden OP poll)
• Sorc (The shield issue, but now I don't see too many Sorc around)

The only thing I've not seen lately is people calling for Sorc nerfs, maybe because of the recent nerf. So are the other 4 that much more powerful than Sorc now? Now I know there are people that say L2P and others that give constructive information, but in the grand scheme of things... can't they all OP depending on the player playing them and what sets they're using?

Which class needs a buff to keep up and why?

Everyone does think this way. I admit it, im a templar guy. But a lot of people will say templars are these least suited for PVP so, i dont think a buff to templars would be bad. Nerf nightblades, there is a level of unfairness where they can just disappear indefinitely during combat. Nerf sorcs just because i loved hearing all the cry-babies whine about the last sorc nerf, sorc was way to op

If I had to suggest a nerf, I'd suggest nerf zos for their incompetence.

Cloak has been nerfed literally into the ground over the years cuz people say it's over powered and over performaning. Every class has access to ways to pull NBs out of stealth but refuse to use them which baffles me. Now in combo with snipe is it over performaning NO. That's just a guarantee 100% crit. It's the sets the NB uses that makes snipe powerful.

Dk's. Are they in need of a nerf nope. Is heavy armor well that was nerfed patches ago, we just find ways to make this class strong in more ways than one. Hell a light armor mDK is as scary as a Stam heavy heavy armor DK. Are you guys calling for a nerf on both cuz they both hit hard? It's called build diversity.

Templar. Not sure about this class anymore cuz I went full heals and haven't had any issues with magplars yet. As far as stamplars rarely see them.

Stamden- I see more stamdens with spin 2 win BS. Do I think their OP not really. In a group that is well coordinated they can be deadly.
Magdens - same thing nope. I play one as well. Tried the Stamden and hated the play style.

Sorc- Stam and Magicka. Just delete this class hahahahahahahaha.

No but seriously I think all classes are perfectly fine. It's the skill lines that need to be looked at, not the classes. For instance steel tornado, time stop. That's just for starters.

If people are gonna cry for nerf well here are my nerfs.

What is up with all the hate for CC. CC has been a staple of almost all MMOs from the beginning. It brings some tactics into fighting instead of just whack a mole DPS, DPS, DPS. Hell as a mage in cloth kiting and CC used to be the only way to survive someone in your face in past MMOs. In PVP here my CC hardly ever works and even when it does, the person quickly breaks it and gap closes my teeth out.

It’s about 50/50 if i break out or lag out

I can only speak from a PvE magicka DD toons perspective:

Nightblades (they are in good position)
Templars (good position, but execute needs more adjusting)
Dragonknights (good damage but only in short range, need range increase to at least 15 meters for spells)
Wardens (almost good enough, need a damage + minor ally healing spell that is actually good to buff the group and they will be picked a lot more. But it needs to be a good damage spell to not hinder DPS is they are currently on the edge performance wise)
Sorcs (a lot of reworks needed - only crystal frags is usable and other spells need adjustments and reworks. Pet sorcs also are not reliable enough (either make them more reliable and not impact group mechanics in trials or buff their damage to compensate). Pet sorcs also fall more as they do not benefit shield wise anymore from a large magicka pool.

Of course if you go to do vTrials for the fun it doesn't matter what you pick, but if you aim for TickTock, Immortal Redeemer, or Gryphon heart group there is not a large versatility for magicka DDs (1 sorc for frags buff proc and the rest are currently mageblades and mageplars).

The last place a developer should ever look to decide buffs/nerfs are their public forums. Between everybody wanting their preferred class buffed, to the 'i just got pwnd by Class X, they be overpowered' crowd, you just can't get any reasonably balanced critique.

The only way to truly judge class balance is usually with data we do not have access too.

Magicka warden needs major buffs.

It's tied for the lowest DPS in the game while having one of the toughest rotations. It also relies on a single target AI for most of its damage. The class also has zero utility when specced for DPS.

I don't do pve much anymore and if I do it's with friends from the pvp community. So I'm not sure what needs buffs for which classes for the pve aspect.

The only reason I said CCs is that when vivec PC na starts to lag. You get perma cc'd and you're pretty much SoL. So you start to think is it the *** servers or is it the multiple CCs being spammed on you. Idk. All I know is for example:

Last night PC na vivec.

The lag that was created from certain EP guild cough cough Crow and the amount of CCs being thrown at you non stop you couldn't break free even with purge or rapids. So yes that's why I said CCs.

Nothing will change my mind on time stop or steel tornado cuz well time stop is broken AF!

Not all classes are created equal nor should they be. Some classes should be better at specific aspects such as DoT damage, AoE damage, direct damage, magika, weapon, etc... This allows each class to be a bit more unique but with how ESO is designed you can play your character any way you want but there should be some benefit to playing specific classes as specific builds.

Even with that said, all various builds should be within 5% of each other prior to buffs and debuffs. With each class having one build that really shines due to it being how the class should be played as said build.

For instance Templar and Sorc should be a bit stronger with magika builds and Nightblade with stamina. I know that may not be the case but these are just examples.

The only abilities that need nerfed are Snipe, Cloak, Stamblade, and Elemental Drain.

What is "balance"?

Is it based on the player and their rotation/animation skill?
Is it based on PVP or PVE?
Is it based on experience?
is it based on gear and CP?
Does lag play a part?
Or is it based on the rock, paper, scissors theory?

How does one "balance" the classes?

How does one even figure out what needs nerfing and a buff?

I gave up on the concept of "balance" and just play my Mageblade through and through because you know what? Idgaf anymore. Balance is a fantasy thought that will never be implemented.

Steel tornado needs a cost increase like streak got, or atleast make it dodgeable for medium/light armor users

we need a stam version of purge against bleeds and dots

Sorcs should get Shields back, not as strong as before, but atleast stronger then they are now

Magden needs an execute

Stamden needs a CC and execute

I'm generally happy with where all the classes are except sorc. Not sorc power level but they feel bland to me.

Bleeds and procs, and general mechanics are to be the issue. Cloak as an example; I feel isn't the issue as much as boosting damage on things like snipe from the safety of being invisible to make up for the weakness of the cast and at a range well outside of the best cloak counters.

Another example is people complain about stamdens. Not really that big of deal outside of you wind up with them in a group with someone just spamming roots so they land that combo.

Targetting is annoying also. A lot has been said about ball groups and spin to win, but to me the edge is the fact ball group players are protected by being nearly impossible to focus a single target to hit more than once. Spin to win meanwhile; shows up better because it doesn't suffer from roll dodge or said friendly LOS which makes single target executed tough to land in a large fight.

Also; I am not thrilled with the non-class magicka heals options since the healing ward nerf. Wasnt a fan of healing ward to begin with but it would be nice if there was a vigor type magicka ability and magicka forward momentum type thing maybe within a melee magicka weapon one day.

And in Cyrodiil; guards spamming negates is kind of lopsided against magicka classes.

its obvious that Nightblades are the best spec in the game right now when it comes to dps not that that's a bad thing I would like to see some buffs to sorc and mag wardens especially.

Nothing needs a nerf. NB need a survivability buff. Magden needs a dps buff. Ice staff needs to be made viable.

Every class has some element that is powerful, whether it's too powerful is often very subjective, which is why you can see players calling for all sorts of nerfs, touching on every class. My personal list of "NERF IT NOW" skills would be quite different than that of another player. It would be based on my skill level, play style and preferences. If I were in charge, I'd remove cloak and pets completely but I have no illusions that my preferences match up with a majority of players. I'm not in charge so it likely doesn't matter.

Every once in a while some ability comes along that has a huge amount of support behind nerfing it and those are the ones that get hit quickly (usually). It's the nerfs that nearly nobody asked for that confuse players.
