Clearly ZOS are incapable of properly fixing this problem, so it needs to be smashed with the big ole hammer rather than the scalpel.

30 seconds maybe ?

Like most games, it's supposed to. Even games with more dev's cant keep it working perfectly

A quick check of Dev Tracker clearly shows this bug has been acknowledged, is being investigated, and is not a quick fix.

Your proposed solution isn't a quick fix, either.

Agreed. Sometimes you wern't even in combat but a group mate is, or ally near you.

Wouldn’t be an issue if they didn’t decided to make it so you can’t change abilities while in combat. One of the worst changes I’ve seen. I also predicted this would bring back the incombat bug once again.

Is there even a drawback to letting someone mount up while in combat? They basically leave themselves completely vulnerable and have a 1 second delay while mounting before they move, and you could just knock them off if you're quick enough causing them even more delayed movement... seems like a fair trade. Sorcs would love it too because they no longer have 40% movement speed, or bolt escape

Sorcs are the ones being chased by players mounting up as soon as they can, they're not going to appreciate that happening even more often.

To me it's just changes after killing last enemy in 1 second.

Try fight and destroy your enemies instead of running away like a dog so you don't need to wait XX seconds just 1 second.
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.

Still have no idea why the combat state is group-wide to begin with. If I haven't even hit anything, I shouldn't be in combat. The moment I hit something, put me in combat. That damn simple.

This problem has been going on for years and there were several attempts to fix it, all of them proved just temporary and it crept back in sooner or later. That's why i think it is time for the hammer rather than the scalpel.
Like most games, it's supposed to. Even games with more dev's cant keep it working perfectly

If i wanted perfect, I'd demand working doors in Cyro, a reliable weapon swap, reliable cc break and immunity ( stun lock does exist in the game under certain conditions ), purge/ritual not whiffing half the time, no ghosting and zergballs not being able to prevent other players from executing skills by simply spamming and overloading the servers. And that's just before the morning coffee.

But i do realise there are limits to what ZOS can do, so I don't ask for all of that at once. Some progress towards any of these goals would be really nice though.

    I totally agree.
