Buying crowns through steam

Does anyone know if I can buy crowns through steam and have them still work even if I don't play eso through steam? got a steam gift card for Christmas, thought I might use it

You can, but you have to also own ESO through STEAM and have it linked to your non steam account.

You can purchase ESO on STEAM for around $10, then link it to your non steam account.
