Important Sets to Collect in ESO

Hello! :) I've played casually on/off since Beta and collected a ton of stuff among my alts. I'm doing the drudge work of recording all the sets/gear I got and organizing and ditching/keeping the right things. Trouble is, I could use some help with sets I should definitely keep around - and even finish! I can craft most things so I'm only concerned with non-craft-able sets. I altaholic across classes, both Stam & Magicka. I'm not necessarily trying to min/max as I'm just not that good a player, but I don't wanna throw away or wast time on the gosh awful large number of 'whatever sets.' Here's what I think are 'some' of the sets to keep an eye on:

Undaunted Infiltrator
Fury
Seventh Legion,
Ravager
Netch's Touch
Elegant Queens Embrace
Spider Cultist

Thank you for any and all help! :)

P.S. I'm really not talking about Monster/Maelstrom/Master gear. Those are too obvious to work toward. Thanks!

There are honestly too many to list between all the classes and possible combinations for PvE and PvP, not to mention some sets that everyone thought were trash until people started using them. Hats off to anyone who can take the time to type out every single set worth having for any situation. You’re thinking of healer, tank, DD and stamina or magicka in PvE and then the same for PvP including any hybrid builds or multi purpose builds people come up with along with solo, small scale or group play, Zerg play, CP/no CP. You can start to see why trying to make a list of sets to keep around becomes a massive task.

Undaunted Infiltrator - Only good for hybrids.
Fury - PvP set. Worthless in PvE since NPCs cannot crit
Seventh Legion more of a PvP set but could be used for a player wanting to be a tank that can do a little bit of DPS. Certainly not as serious tank.
Ravager - iirc was nerfed somehow recently. I cannot recall the nerf. Was popular before then.
Netch's Touch - Best set on the list. Good for a sorc wanting to do all lightning damage. Use only lightning staves.
Elegant Queens Embrace - not a bad set. Especially if you are good at weaving light attacks in before each skill.
Spider Cultist - probably the worst set of the lot.

The only set I would keep is the Netch's Touch. Probably every serious DPS that has as Sorc has a set and has used it back when lightning was the meta. Still worth keeping. Some of those sets have benefits in specific situations thought Spider Cultists really does not have a good use in any situations since it only benefits destroy skills.

That was all very helpful, particularly from 'idk'. Thanks! Yah, it s a huge task and question. I've got set to fill ~600 slots and am decunstructing now with my best guesses.

Still open to anyone suggesting, "don't throw X set away!"

    :)

Keep rather jewels and weapons/shields than armor, if not shure. Armor will come around easier.

If you keep armor parts, think of the traits, you would not keep all traits. For PvE you would keep infused and divines. On chests maybe enforced. Impen is also a good trait. Everything else is more min/max and special interest. I don't say it would not work, it would rather require a lot of theorycrafting.

A good set would probably compliment your build with as much boni as possible. Therefore, tank sets with 2x +4% healing and weird sets like the undaunted whatever (which have one bonus off) would land on the bench for decon.

Also, some sets work great in combination. I like to pair Shroud of the Lich and Vestments of the Warlock on my healer. (Still have to farm another setup - LoL.) Therefore I kept weapons and jewels of the former and armor of the latter only. No need to keep a weird mix.

Same is true for sets that are off looking at the weight. If you farm Knight-errant’s Mail, Rattlecage or Seventh Legion Brute, you would probably not keep any armor at all. Unless you like to use the chest piece and on rare occasion the legs too.

I'll rate those sets for you. If I rate it low, it means I don't foresee you having many regrets if you were to deconstruct it.

    Undaunted Infiltrator 3/10

    Fury 0/10 for PVE

Seventh Legion, 3/10 for group PVE, a bit higher for solo PVE and PVP. Decent for VMA

Ravager 7/10 (if you got weapons/daggers 10/10 - do not deconstruct). Also a good PvP and VMA set.

Netch's Touch ?/10 - defer to the lightning Sorcerers

    Elegant Queens Embrace 2/10

Spider Cultist 0/10 - any class that would benefit from this would benefit A LOT MORE from even crafted Julianos

Pretty sure they made it so the Relequen proc no longer procs Ravager set. So a nerf if OP was using Relequen with it.

ha! I just deconstructed Lich's and Warlock! lol. Show's my low ESO-IQ. oh well. Thanoscopter, thanks, I use Julianos all the time and guess I'll ditch the Spider Cultist.

wish I could reasonably just list more on here, but that'd be silly as there's just TOO MANY sets, half of which I just killed. Thanks for the input folks!

Lich is good in pvp. Can be used in pve but not ideal.

Best advice keep weapons and shiels that interest ypu.

Thanks Tasear. Boy, i gt a lot of 'stuff' but not really a lot of quality. Re-building my MagSorc to a lightning/crit based one which will take a new learning curve and going after the right equipment all over.

Started with Julianos/Netch with a Slimecraw helm and Willpower jewelry.

The change to 2H weapons counting for two slots on set equipment is HUGE! I love that!

    Thanks all.

You'll definitely want to hold on to Bone Pirate ( From Blackheart Haven ) and Bright Throat ( from Murkmire overland/dailies/world bosses ). They are staple sets for many stamina ( bone pirate ) and magicka ( bright throat ) builds. Spinners Garments, Spell Strategist ( PvP ) and what's the set with increasing resistances with missing hp again are some more favourites.

It would be really helpful if you mentioned what content you intend to play, that makes a huge difference. The sets you listed are generally not particularly good in any content at the moment though - 7th Legion and Ravagers still can be for a few specific builds, but I don't think they are BiS for any of them.

Problem with lich and Warlock is that you could just as well craft seducer, all are also pretty much healer sets for PvE, they have the benefit that they are easier to farm than SPC or Olorime.

Else yes keep relevant weapons and jewelry as second.
You might also want to keep decent sets you get a lot of like then trying to farm weapons of other sets.
Note that how more bis an set is who less likely people are to give you gear in an pug.

Now for stamina, my favorite is Vicious Serpent, no its not bis Briarheart is better on dummy or long parses on bosses there healer give resources but for pugs on easier dungeons and "healer" its very good, overland its just idiotic fun because of the stamina return.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

True, however overland sets can be sold unless used and prices tend to go down over time unless meta changes.
No reason to keep an unused overland set sit in bank unless you plan for an build for it.

Depending on your class, Necropotence is still used quite frequently for sorcs and wardens running pets. Lightning/fire staves in infused are especially valuable.

It's actually easier to list the ones you shouldn't bother with. The big question is what kind of builds do you see yourself using in the future? PvE? PvP?
