Xbox One X Performance - normal or is my new X broken?

Hey,

Im new to the x and Just got an 1X. I did Play yesterday after I did play hellblade:senuas sacrifice and I was just super dissappointed.

The world and all the chracter custonization feels very good, the game itself does also look pretty good. The thing ist, IT actually feels Like im running around with 20-25 fps, since the Tutorial. I cant find anything graphics settings I can choose Like an fps Mode or something.

Does the X runs this Game Just at 20 fps in General (IT Just feels Like that, after playing senuas 60fps with gorgeous graphics).

How is the Performance in raids/PvP?

Im playing on a normal 1080p HD TV, Not even in 4k.

Idk, but probably not as well as a PC would perform.

The game should be playing at 30 frames if not 60, and the overall performance is much better on the One X than the standard One, so the only reason I can think of you encountering lag is being in highly populated areas. The performance gets worse when there are a lot of other players around you.

And no there are no graphics options on the Xbox version. Console games don't give you that.

honestly it depends on where you live are you on NA or EU? Do you live near one of there servers? I play on NA I have an Xbox X and I play on a Sony Bravia 4K 75 inch TV and my Internet speed is 1Gig Up and 1Gig Down the Graphics look amazing especially after I bought the enhanced game for ESO "Since you should just buy it since it's made for the Xbox X" but when it comes to lag and raids it's still the same game my fps even drop down to 5 during prime time in PvP

ESO on the Xbox One X is still locked at 30 FPS like the normal Xbox.

The Xbox One X improved the GPU part of the APU to a a GTX 1060-equivalent (a mid-range, 1080p GPU), but retained the same crappy CPU performance from the original Xbox One (based on some low-end i3-equivalent from 2013). This will especially hurt ESO performance, but will generally hold you back in all games (not that the GPU is a powerhouse either). This is the sad reality of consoles.

Having said that, this game runs like dog *** on the best PCs too.

I'm running a one x on a 1080 set and the difference is night and day. One of the first things I done was enter a cyrodi battle with large amount of siege on both sides and it was smoooooooove.

Didn't help my magsorc from being killed in an instant though

If its anything lile the ps4 pro its not your xbone thats the problem... Its eso. Athe ps4 pro has bad frame rate issues with eso (and only eso).

The 1060 and 970 are roughly equivalent. They are mid-range (60 fps) 1080p GPUs.

Powerhouse GPUs would be ones that are designed to run games at 144 fps in 1080p/1440p, or 60 fps at 4k .

Thanks you for all the comments, so IT IS just running like that? I live in Germany and 1x is connected with WiFi 50mb/s.

So there arent specifuc settings like a boost mode or anything for the x1?

You can increase your fps by stopping game capture on xbox, Check your Game DVR settings: Open the Xbox app, then Settings and then Game DVR. Make sure that Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR is set to Off. Also having a to long ethernet cable can cause lag and resetting your hub can also help, some hubs can cause lag to so a port forwarding for your xbox should help as well

You REALLY should try to connect the console via Ethernet cable.

I would assume they mean it’s an “Xbox one x enhanced” game... usually that means 4K and hdr...

The Xbox one x performance is night and day compared to the original Xbox one... it just pales in comparison to the pc. Although it sounds like the network connection could be part of the problem for the op...

Don’t quote me but I think they’ve turned 4K/the X’s enchanted graphics off until they resolve an issue they were having with it. It got taken down earlier this year I believe. (They’ve probably fixed it and I’m talking smack but that was the last I heard)

So WiFi Connection affects fps? I dont feel lag, no delay with skills etc.

I logged into ESO yesterday for the first time on my new One X and, while it studdered slightly in a huge battle, it didn’t crash which was a BIG problem for me on my old standard XBox. I even noticed some serious rays of sunshine. All in all it worked which is a good thing.

But regardless ... don’t EVER play ESO on WiFi.

Without the devs commenting there’s really no way to know for sure... but it would seem likely it’s a combination of the not-so-great cpu in the Xbox and lag... there’s always less lag with a wired connection. Surprised you’re not having issues with skill delay though... it’s pretty bad in Cyro for me during prime time even with my wired xone x... lag, skills not firing etc... and as others pointed out it seems to bleed (lag, skills not firing) into pve when there’s a lot of folks on.

Sounds like a setup issue as my X1X plays mint. As good as id like bar bugs in the game etc. Performance i cant fault tho.

What's your broadband speed, latency like and you on LAN?

That's incorrect mate. They turned HDR OFF two patches ago, we all kicked off as it looked awful in 4k, dull. Ao they reverted that and its back to former glory. However at some point they may adjust the colours down a touch, just not OFF

I have around 60-70mb/Second If I Test in Xbox, ms it shows 150 , although I dont feel like I have an high Ping (Fortnite etc, everything is super Smoothie).
Im on WiFi . But I dont have Lags, bar swapping etc everything is Working . Well , I played a Lot of 60fps Games, might be, that I just think 30fps are 15.

I did an bg, No Lags either.

I doubt its your xbox.. This games performance is terrible and it seems to be worse on console and worse depending on what your internet is like. If you have low speeds, even though other games might be okay, this game will not always run well.. Especially if you are in cyrodil or a populated city.. I would try other games if you think its your xbox, but i really doubt it.

Dude... switching from console to PC is night and day for sure. I actually thought the servers were junk and ZOS didn’t care about their games performance.. turns out it’s just console!

The best thing you could ever do for yourself if you truly love and enjoy the game is to switch to PC. It is waaayyy better performance wise.

Something you could try though is switching your video output to 720 instead of 1080 in the xbox settings, at least while you play this game. Also, type your gamer tag into the guild roster search area. It saves your console from searching the whereabouts of everyone else in the guild (less load on the cpu)

I play on my Xbox One X and there is a huge improvement over the Xbox One. That said, there are sometimes when in the Xbox One plays like the Xbox One or even worse than my old laptop. Now that I have a better laptop I am back on the PC again but still try Xbox One X version time to time. Most times runs great but because of the Season going on with a lot more people in the area, the game does run slower and gittery.

All I can say is go somewhere where nobody is, and attack a few creatures. You shouldn't have any slow down at all. Also, try a wired internet connection to see if its' your wifi or not.

Your Xbox is not the issue. Your experience is normal. The One X doesn't offer a whole lot of improvement performance wise really as it uses the same/similar CPU as the One and One S.

You won't see much in the way of better frame rate. You will notice better textures and faster loading textures.

You'll also hard lock crash less often. The game will seem like it's trying to crash but will recover.

Capped. Not locked. Locked would imply it's at 30 all the time. As it is now it's at 30 almost none of the time.

no,you don't need to buy a new copy of ESO,it's a patch on XBOX ONE X that has made it enhanced.
40/60 fps: impossible,30 is the cap,when are ready....

I did this (an ssd with my one x) and it IS better... it’s just sobering when the load times are still half or less on my PC with a stock hardrive... one of these days I should hook the PC up to the 4K tv! Alas, I “only” have an nvidia 1070.
