So ... I see shields are changed

    Yup it still works just no longer OP where sorcs can shield for days and days and they actually die once in a while without needing 12 people pounding on them for 5 minutes

    PVE shields are basically useless, uber expensive, and minimally effective. Literally, 1/3 of their former strength unless you stack health with Plague Doctor or something and sacrifice DPS. In a trial with good healers, you’re fine. For solo overland and PUG groups, your 7-8k shields will be disintegrated by butterly farts.

    PVP shields are the same/better and still stackable.

    The original nerf to shields was the addition of a 1 second cast time to Ward and Annulment. There was a revolt, and ZOS changed to the 40/50% health cap. Most then realized the 1 second cast time maybe wasnt so bad, compared to a 60% nerf that hit PvE'ers especially hard.

    The frustrating thing is you can still stack shields, which was the crux of the issue in PvP.

    After all the adjustments, shields are about the same as they were, its just the numbers that changed, not the effectiveness.

    As someone who's using shields almost only in PvE, that's not true.

    Shields have become a bit weaker but not by that much as they now also inherit resistances. It sounds way worse than it actually is.
    A cast time, however, would've been the absolute worst idea in the history of ESO, ever.

    I've been playing my magsorc in BGs with 5 Light Shacklebreaker/ 5 spinners/ 2 bloodspawn and I've been having a blast! Wish you luck friend and welcome back!

    Now damage shields makes sense for everyone. Before was only noticeable for sorcerer's.

    I don't slot a shield even though I could use one. So I die a lot. I NEED everything on my bars already. I have to pick my poison, basically. When facing someone with high weapon damage output, I just accept death as a consequence of wearing light armor.

    With every patch comes new bugs and then also the old ones which zos 'fixed' come back as an added bonus for your sub fee, so its a lot worse from the gameplay point of view. But the shield change was a good thing, only the potatoes moaned because the crutch just isn't as big now.

    I didn't shield stack before, now I feel like I have to in order to survive :/

    Well first of all if you were struggling with sorcs in 2018 and your problem wasn't exclusively contained within rune cage. The problem wasn't with sorcs the problem is that you failed to understand the nessecarily steps to play against a sorc. If you can count to 3 you can kill almost every sorc in the game.

    Comparing snipe and shields is idiotic serves no purpose and just further underlines the lack of mechanical understanding that pervades the community.

    Now I'm gonna go try to top thogard snipe.

    I've been vocal about my thoughts on PvP (I have no PvP build that uses sorc Shields or Annulment/morphs)

    In PvE no pre murkmire build was capable of still soloing vet dungeons, the one(s) I have now invest heavily into survival making the dungeons take longer
