Nice job with the skills respec

Hi all,

I returned to the game after taking a break and saw a very nice addition to skill respec where one no longer needs to re-invest all the points after the respec just add / subtract whichever desired, about which I felt compelled to say is one of the nicest additions that contributes to very good UX and I wish to thank the development team for that.

A wee suggestion: please lower the pricing for skill respec, it's unnecessarily high. It would further contribute to better UX especially for new players who are still figuring things out. It's incorrect to assume just because someone hit high levels they know their class well.

Please keep it up with such great additions to the game.

Merry Christmas!

I agree the pricing is a little high. You might change one skill point or 100 and it still costs the same.
But also don’t forget when levelling a new character you get a free skill and attribute respec.

the idea of skill respecting(sp?) has always been something I think that the game just messed up with design. It shouldn’t cost me 15-20k+ to switch between specs. In WoW I press a button and can switch between tank/healer and dps or even one type of dps to another. In ESO, it costs me a lot of gold and quite frankly, a lot of time.

You should be able to save a load out (attributes included) in the same way that you save an outfit. I wouldn’t mind paying 20k+ or crowns for that but every time I want to switch?

    Lame....

Highly agreed, although it seems to me that every player should have access to set up two load-outs, one for PVE and one for PVP. The second could be unlocked through the Alliance skill line or Cyrodiil ranking system. Restrict when players can swap to avoid abuse. Maybe extra load-outs in addition could be purchased or whatever but having two should just be standard.

The gold sink excuse doesn't justify the inconvenience of manually switching everything back and forth if you want to effectively play one character in both arenas.

while i agree that current costs are not awesome and saving specific presets would be nice (there is a partial gear/bar setup solution on pc in a form of mods, but that leaves consoles out), switching between specs doesn't cost 20k+ as you should only be changing morphs/cp which is cheaper and faster than full skill respec. at this point of the game's life we have more then enough skill points in game that you can afford to have points invested into multiple possible specializations AND crafting, and that's not counting pvp points. I know cause its what I have done on my main.

also wow is nit a good game to compare to since in wow specs don't have the same build flexibility that ESO provides. you literally get to select.. 7 talents I think it was? (you get pvp talent window also, but its completely separate from pve talents) and the rest is by default. no variety of morphs or abilities or even weapon types.

Thank goodness for those respec scrolls too. On my new characters I had to take the first skill in several trees to get the skill I really wanted which is the last skill in the tree. Once I have it I won't need that first skill anymore and want those points back!

I must say though the cost should be dictated with how many points you change. It shouldn't cost as much to change five as it is to change them all.

Charging for respecs and forcing players to run to a certain spot to do it is one of those archaic practices they need to stop. It’s stupid and aggravating. They should allow you to switch skills and abilities on the fly as long as you are out of combat.

It’s 2018. Time to cut the crap out with skill respecs.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."
