Lagging in Trials on Console

What can be the reason that is causing this? I am using the original xbox (not xbox one x) and i always lag in trials. Until recently i have been playing a perfect 30 fps and all my skill were working while everyone else was lagging in VAA, and i even had my numbers turned on too!. I was so shocked to see my game running smoothly xD. Some people in the party chat was complaining bout lagging but i wasnt lagging one bit and my internet also sucks. I wonder if the fps drop and lag is caused by something else (beside the server sucking)
It also happened again the next day but after that everytime i do trials now it feels clunky and my frames sucks Boy i gotta say this game looks GREAT when its not laggy xD
i wish i can experience a trial like that again

Apparently opening a dead guild and searching for yourself reduces lag by quite a bit. Other than that turning off damage numbers, pets, music all help.

I reckon it's because the game is so immense with all the DLCs and chapters being added. Plus, each time there are reoccurring anniversary event, it adds more. There are so much going on, probably even ZOS and the developers can't even get a grasp on it; why shitt seem to be broken every so often after a maintenance. It's got to be a task and a half for them to keep things rolling and somewhat close to working right.

if it helps, an SSD does releieve you of a lot of the lag issues on an xbox

i have the 1x - and it was laggy as hell last night in vSO. in fact the final boss dissapeared for vast swathes of the fight . the aoe wasnt much better either. i was at least 1-2 seconds behind. reloadui made it a bit better. but not a massvie amount.

I take the following steps before entering a trial as I'm guaranteed to be dashboarded if I don't.
-Turn off music
-Search for my own gamertag in my guild/leaderboards
-Turn off damage numbers
-Turn off quest givers/tracker
Also I /reloadui at any sign of a break in the trial.
If it gets very laggy sometimes I'll travel to another player in the trial too to put me back at the start & travel through the portals.
I love playing this game & love the people I do trials with. That's the only reason why I go through all this to do a trial. The point is though I shouldn't HAVE TO!!!!

Sometimes you just get a bad instance and usually having everyone travel out and resetting it will help.

I will always clear the local game data/cache after an update / patch or if it gets unbearable. Works every time for me (Xbox One X)

Ahh trials. A pipe dream for me because when I go in I just crash most of the time or it’s completely unplayable. Been like this for years and jack *** has been done about it.

Already done all that, plus all the game sound etc. Still rubbish. While my net isn’t perfect (I’m Australian) Every other online game works fine on my PS4. There are too many people having problems for this to be purely an issue on the player side.

The sdd would work to a degree, but the game wasnt designed for console. Theres are heaps of 'rumors'
Turn to 720p, turn sound off, lick your left hand twice..... They dont work.
As @MattT1988 said, the game plays like rubbish and most other games run fine.

Going back to gw2 and get a constant ping of 180 compared to my ping in eso which was around 600.... Its not you, its them and they do refuse to fix it (happy to take you money though).

Yep thanks bud LOL. It shouldn’t be ok for us to be excluded from trials that work purely because of where we live.

i am trying to vma score run right now and my bar swaps in slow motion, my skills wont go off, etc.... and its a single player trial... but who ever said this game wasnt made for console is wrong. ive done vma and trials where it doesnt lag. So obviously the point is the game CAN run smoothly on console. Something is causing the lag idk what it is.

ORRRR zos can listen to me and give us graphics option to play the game in less details so we dont lag... Its always been like that with counter strike, left 4 dead, and garys mod... i had the option to lower the graphics settings and when i do i have more fun playing with bad graphics than lagging
