Gotta love this nebulous "fix the game" attitude people have around here.

"ZoS should stop working on new projects and fix the game."

"ZoS should stop making new content and fix the game."

"ZoS should stop having in game events and fix the game."

"ZoS should stop making money and fix the game."

"ZoS should stop eating lunch and fix the game."

"ZoS should stop letting their employees sleep and fix the game."

I'm not even sure you guys know what that means anymore.

What about "Zos should fix the game" ?

No no, see, that doesn't work because ZoS always has to reassign resources from somewhere else in order to "fix the game".

You get bonus points if those resources have nothing whatsoever to do with whatever needs "fixing" and wouldn't be helpful in fixing it. Like reassigning art asset guys to fix a memory leak, or sending the marketing team to balance this month's OP class in PvP.

Right, but they've had 4 years to fix the bugs from 4 years ago at least. People really need to stop defending companies. Zenimax has the ability to explain itself (or at least make excuses) on its own. Don't do it for them.

According to ZOS' website, the studio is currently "hard at work on multiple brand-new ZENIMAX ONLINE STUDIOS products across many different platforms".

Given the current state of ESO, do you think ZOS is shooting itself in the foot by working on multiple new products rather than focusing its resources on fixing the studio's current product? Personally, I don't think the new products would perform that well if they're released when ESO is experiencing so many performance issues and bugs since players would be hesitant to play the new game given how ZOS handled ESO.

    Thoughts?

    This is a good thing.
It means their leaving eso alone.
Remember their trying to fix game.
But it gets more broken when they fix it.
Them leaving eso alone is a good thing.
It means they will not be breaking it anymore.
Lets take it as it is now.
    With a grain of salt.
    And move on.

    No.

They have already proven that millions of people will buy faulty product and accept it.

You don't have to buy the new products. But zos already knows that you probably will.

Hate to break it to you guys.

The *actual* warning sign is if you go a full two years with *no* DLC content. No dungeons. No zones. No voice overs. etc. Not even mini-trials

That would mean they have given up. Why waste money on making content for a game not making money?

Bringing in new products is actually a Wrobel fix for shooting yourself in the foot. You see, if you are in the process of shooting yourself in the foot and a new project passes between you and your foot you will lose targeting on the foot, your skill will not fire, and therefore you will not shoot yourself in the foot. This is the creative way in which ZOS does fixes.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Are you suggesting that marketing team is not in charge of balance?

Not necessarily. Remember City of Heroes? They were still releasing new content right up until the rug was pulled out from under them.

ZOS is preparing for the eventual release of Starfield and TES6. Although a ways off still, when they drop, ESO will see a drop in active, regular players. That is, of course, if Bethesda can get it's head out of it's ... backside.

People on here said the same thing about Fallout 76.

We all know how that turned out.

Well, the thing is, those people weren't wrong. ESO very probably would have seen a bit of a drop in active, regular players. It's just that nobody expected Fallout 76 to be such a monumental cluster....ehem.

I mean, yeah, a rough launch was to be expected. But that is one for the record books.
