How should I spend my champion points? What should I take into consideration?

I went with pre-made builds, but I've grown tired of copy-pasting builds, I want some character freedom, I want to feel an accomplishment when a build I made myself is doing great.
I'm a stamblade Redguard, and I went to get into trials and vet content when I'm at the right level. I know which sets to use, but what I don't know is how I should pick my skills or make my rotation to maximize DPS and how to properly spend my champion skills.

✭✭✭As far as Champ Points, they are the most confusing. They work on a declining scale. i.e. At 5 points in a passive it says next point will increase ability 10%. At 50 points in it, it will give you 0.4%.

✭✭✭✭✭While there are some interesting things you can do on the damage side with the Magic and Stamina parts, Mitigation or Health is pretty standard across all builds. See this thread for some guidance.

Even though you end with the same point layouts in this section, at least you have the best damage mitigation from the Champ systemEnjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
