character banks?

Went to the bank to store my favorite prophets bow and low and behold can not put it into my bank because it says its character bound. Never heard of a game not letting a character have bank access. How are we supposed to store beloved items if not in the bank?

You... *sigh*, aren't. It's for that character. You've gotta level the other character (or run that quest, etc) to get the item... sucks, but..
if I could make another character, their name would be Cries-For-Character-Slots. AKA, I need more.

Most of the new leveling rewards are character bound, mostly to prevent people from trading the good rewards like research scrolls to their main characters.

I dunno what ZOS thinks we're going to do with the set weapons, but I'm sure its the same principle - leveling reward weapons should only benefit the character who's leveling.

If its really that much of a beloved reward, make room on your character. My AD hero still has the item she got from the Mane in the Reaper's March questline.

Yep, character bound items can only be used or destoyed/deconstructed.

What I hate are the tradeable items which you can mail, sell and put in a guild bank but cannot put in your own bank. Don't what sort of logic is behind that one.

Yes, saw that too. Think the runebox: Colovian filigree hood was the same.

Well when you get right down to it it doesn't really make sense for rune boxes to go into your bank anyway. I mean, you use one of them and get a collectible for your account. After that they are pretty much useless to you for anything besides trading to another player or selling on a guild trader.

That does not mean we should not be able to place them in there. We all have different reasons for why we do things.

One of my mains still wears her prison shackles. I started her a couple of months after PC launch and leveled her from 10 to VR16 in Cyrodiil. And yes, they are dyed purple.

I know. Just saying there's really not much point to it. After you've used one, the only use the rest have is in getting rid of them. You can't really save them for later because they're just as useless to you then as they are now.

This is new as in later than Morrowind, I have an cp160 Cadvind lost robe in bank. Simply keep the box while you level up.
Is it from the level up rewards? they are often character bound.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The character bank, in this game, is known as the "backpack".

You wouldn't be storing that bow for long if you could store it. Every other bow in the game is better..

But, for example, the market is saturated with them right now. I'll sell them eventually or find someone to give them to, but until then, it would be nice to at least put them in my bank I've got plenty of room for exploring.

Those are actually account bound, once you learn them, the only thing you can do with the others is trade or sell them to other players. If you want it on another character, trade it to someone you know and then login with the character you want it on and have them trade it back to you.

Yeah, so you store it in the bank until you get around to selling it. Instead of constantly carrying it around with you.
(just because you're going to sell something, doesn't mean you're going to sell it immediately)

Undaunted keys are character bound but the loot from the chest is not. Does that make sense?

Means you can't pass keys to low level characters and get them low level monster shoulders...although they can buy the shoulders from the Golden. :confounded:
