How long should it take a guild to set up a run?

So I am running in a guild that helps people with trials. I put in a request to run normal maw of lorkhaj. I was told by the guild leader that for that dungeon it would take some time to set it up. After 2 days of waiting I asked what was going on with the run. I was told the guild leader needed until a full 7 days later to finish setting it up. In a guild of over 150 active members this seems a bit long to me. Am I wrong in thinking that 9 days total is a bit excessive for a single normal trial run or is that actually pretty normal?

Discord helps with the organising. Believe me it does. The guilds I’m in can fill out a roster in a couple of hours for trials using discord.

    It all depends really.

In a semi casual guild with active players, usually it's within a few hours, give and take real life.

But in a regular casual guild with people that arent as active as you, yeah a few days seems reasonable. Try and do an event within your community, and see how the response goes. If it's an event not a lot of people want... You'll rarely see peeps turning up within the hour. So again, it all depends.

You don't need a guild for normal runs though. Just go to Craglorn and recruit your own team.

My advise, set up a time a week in advance.
I have a guild of 400+ and a sister guild of 250+ and even planning it a week in advance, it can take a hour or so to fill the 12.
    Just my 2 drakes...

It’s normal trial. Pugs complete it all day because all mechanics are skippable unless you have half a group of sub 10k ‘dd’. Decent pugs can even stack and burn hof triplets.

A pity in different relms, but my next suggestion is move on you are being tricked by guildmaster. This situation is not reasonable.

On a nCR trial run, it took us about 45 minutes to get 12 players of correct roles/availability. That is a pug. I would expect a guild if it's full to be about half that.

if it takes you a week to set up a normal trial you can't really call yourselves a trial guild in my opinion.

Why don't they just motd it. Set date/time, see who shows up. If guild is good, easy, if not, no shows.

150 people is not a lot. My 500-person guilds will often be unable to find 12 people.

It's the main reason I don't care much for trials. It takes herculean effort to set up a run, especially vet. And actual trial guilds are too strict with scheduling for my liking (but that's why they can get runs going).

Do you need the guildmaster to lead the run? You could set it up yourself by just asking your guild who wants to do it.

Just go to craglorn and type "lfm nmol" -> invite everyone who whispers you or responds to it in some kind of way and make your own group, you'll probably find people within 5 minutes and you dont even need 12 people to clear it anything beyond 8 people is fine (for pugs) people already 2 manned it.

This. With good organisation it shouldn't take more than a few hours to get a group organised. Even without Discord one could make an MOTD asking for sign ups, then track them on a GoogleDoc or pad of paper next to you.

    1. Is PC/NA Craglorn the place to assemble PUGs for any trials (Craglorn trial or otherwise)?

    2. Do PC/NA trial PUGs generally run w/o voice chat, the way Groupfinder dungeon PUGs do?

    Yes, and No.

Crag is the defacto zone for trial lfg. But trial groups no matter what require verbal coordination, or at least everyone listening to the tank group leader in chat.

    I would say it depends.

If it's 9 days to recruit what was called a "static" in the old days - then it's not unreasonable. You may not be as old as me (for your sake I hope you're not) so I"ll explain just in case. A static is a group of players who have committed to show up at a certain time on a certain day to do the event. Those can take some time to set up - since the players have work and scheduling differences to work out.

Now if you are just wanting to throw a random group together out of 150 people in your guild to do a trial, then I would say 9 days is excessive. Ridiculously so.
