What's sad is, I've read similar to almost identical posts about 2yrs ago.

At this point, it's a bit late in the game to expect them to do something. They didn't do much of anything 2yrs ago.

There are no bots at endgame, either in PvE or PvP. Quit monkeying around in the starter zones and actually play the game. You will go for years without seeing any bots.

If all you want to do is mindlessly grind mats for personal profit, don't come to the forums expecting everyone to sympathize with your selfish desire to drive up prices.

Again, this is a needlessly salty reply. I dont drive up prices, I sell my stuff cheaper than anyone. I can do that because i farmed it, i dont have to try and make back money I spent on mats from bots and turn a profit. I've also done quite a lot of the endgame content, both pvp and pve. None of which has anything at all to do the bots swarming maps.

I have less issue with bots selling mats for cheap as I do with guilds artificially buying their own items at excessive prices to manipulate the TTC and MM values.

So I've thought about this a bit, and if guilds are trying to manipulate numbers in this way, the opposite can also be done. You could take a cheap trader in the middle of no where and swap large amounts of material between your guildies for just a couple gold per. I'm not doing traders right now, but I can certainly give this a try in January, watch the average prices on ps4 NA, see if it has any effect.

Zos won't listen nor give a ***. Unless it is about Crown store issues.

Most important is to get half-ready semi-working junk to the store
    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

Lots of people will say that Zeni doesn't care about bots or gold sellers (or exploiters) . That's not true, they care and they would prefer these things weren't in the game. But they'd prefer them to just go away on their own, and they aren't going to put more than minimal effort into getting rid of them.

So they care, but not enough to do anything about it.

Actually, if anything, if you can identify a gold seller, and ZOS can tie that account to gold selling, I think ZOS will waste little time in getting rid of them. There are certain things that ZOS jumps right on. Gold sellers seem to top that list. Yes, they will be back under new accounts, but there is little ZOS can do to prevent that.

It is when they cannot link an account to gold selling that I think things get complicated. I suspect that they hesitate to warn, suspend, or ban players that are cheating for in-game personal gain. Gold sellers are a slam dunk. These, not so much.

At least, this is how it appears on PC, based on my long term observations.

I presume that consoles are a quagmire of conflicting and overlapping responsibilities between ZOS and Sony/Microsoft as to how all of this is handled. Complicated.

Yeah it is complicated, same issues with identifying the people buying from them. People just use multiple profiles on their console to buy the mats. You can say, "o hey, so and so is buying" but unless ZoS puts in extra effort to look into it, nothing will be done.

Lol. You've been here way too long to actually believe the garbage you just posted. I mean...really? Yea I don't see any bots in the Trials I run but that doesn't mean they're not an issue overall. They are in every PvE zone running in endless trains. Been that way since day one of release. At least then you felt better seeing a GM from time to time doing something about it.

They ban gold sellers all the time (bots, on the other hand....).

This. There are barely any bots around compared to other MMOs.

And also, they do actively ban gold sellers. Even an ex top ESO streamer that was caught gold selling was banned multiple times across multiple characters very quickly.

I think you'll find that many of the gold sellers are not of the "Chinese bot" variety - but of experienced endgame players looking to make a buck on the side from useless currency.

It may have been true that there were not that many bots before, but as I have said, there are so many now they are clearing entire zones, and spreading to more zones regularly. The problem is becoming exponentially worse.

I've put forward the solution before, and it's rather simple.

    1. Zos bans reported bots. Every single thing in0game runs through their server, and if a char is mining a node 0.05 seconds after it spawns for 8 hours, they can track it.

    2. Zos bans accounts that are the beneficiary of bot trading - ie those accounts that bots tfer mats/gold to in a one way stream. Again, in conjunction with 1, easily traceable/verifiable.

    3. Zos bans all accounts purchased off line - harder to verify but doable.

    4. Make the actions taken very loud and very public. You'll find the problem will quickly resolve itself.

This is where things really fall apart. Tell us that they are taking actions against botters, cheaters, gold sellers? We have suggested this. They have considered the idea. The answer? This is not something they want to communicate to us. Seems to be the standard answer, actually. :pensive:

Yes, at least some feedback from the devs would be appreciated, at minimum why they seemingly wont bother to try to attempt to reduce the volume of these bots
