(actually, can someone tell me an MMO holiday event that isn't "some repetitive activities/dailes"? I know that the ones I've done in WoW, STO, SWTOR, and Secret World Legends, were all like that. Either grind to get a currency to buy a prize, or grind to get random prize drops, or some combination.)
Everyone phoning in events doesn't mean ZOS has to. They could design something interesting if they put their minds to it.

The game has enough grinds, chores, and RNG mechanics before having a holiday event active for what seems like half the time. Most of the events are as boring as crafting dailies. Worse, even, as they take more attention to complete. New Life festival is awful.
- Jump in water, applying a snare to yourself. Then stand still for a few seconds.
- Fish. You lost me at fish.
- Compete with other players for one of three wasp spawns while dozens of players are out to get them first.
- Sit through an obnoxious dance animation in several locations around Stonefalls.
Nobody wants to repeat the same few menial fetch tasks four thousand times in hopes of getting lucky enough to get a reward worth their time. I have plenty of content left to get to without spending all of my free time just trying to keep up with the events.
The better of the events even have problems. Dungeon finder not working, unplayable cyrodiil during mid-year, etc etc.
Grinds and RNG are expected in MMOs, but it would be nice to not be beaten over the head with them all the time.
Twenty quests or so without a single charity writ drop. Guess it's time to just buy them.

Doing one or a few of Breda's quests most days is fun. More than that can feel grindy because repeating the same thing beyond where it is fun is sort of what grinding is. It does help to not care too much about rewards/achievements and, thankfully, most of them are not of great import to me.

I described the quests to my friend earlier and he couldn't believe I would even waste time on something like this:
1. You go to a spot and open three chests
2. You jump in water and stand beside fire
3. You kill a wasp and a wolve and then you eat them and throw a napkin on the ground.
4. You go to like 4 different inns in one zone to dance (use emote 4 times)
5. You go to like 4 places in one city and perform (use emote 4 times)
6. You run to 4 spots in under a minute
7. You deal with RNG fishing and have the hole constantly fished dry before you can pull a single fish
8. You throw mudballs at NPCs and other players stupidly throw them at you locking you into an animation for 5 seconds
9. You kill 5 bugs and compete with other players for spawns
yeah when you write them all out, in their simplest, you realize how crap these quests are... but of course I'm forced to repeat these day in and day out if I want a skin. Tbh they should have just let us buy the skin with Event Tickets. This whole RNG aspect of it makes it that much worse because you have to play these drivel quests over and over.
