Question about Lightning Staff

Since I can't find any answers, I need some guidance.

I have a Spell Strategist Charged Lightning Staff with Absorb Magicka Enchantment.

I am thinking to change things for more damage.

Which glyph should I go for? My other staff has a weapon damage enchantment and another one has a Fire Damage glyph.

So here are the questions:

1. Should I transmute it to Infused? If yes, why?
2. Should I put Fire Damage or Weapon Damage Glyph?

Thank you!

    Yes, infused.
Because of the glyph you will put on it.
Enchants have a cool down of 9 seconds. Infused will cut that in half to 4.5 seconds.

    Glyph=Weapon Damage Glyph.

The Weapon Damage enchant last for 5 seconds. It lasts longer than the cool down by .5 seconds because of Infused.

Now use a DOT, Damage Over Time skill like Elemental Wall.

This means, as long as you keep Elemental Wall up, you will keep you Damage Glyph up %100 of the time.

    I hope this helps!

Hard to tell you anything as you do not share your entire build. Also PvE or PvP? How much spell pen do you have? And so on...

Well in theory crafting I would say infused is one of the BiS trait because enchants are more powerful with them, especially now as the DoT skills from your backbar can proc the enchant from the backbar (for example lets say you have wall of elements on lightning backbar and you cast it than u switch to front bar fire staff, the wall of lightning will proc the enchant from the lightning staff even when u stay on fire front one). Also infused trait will reduce your enchant cool down time so it can proc more often.

As for the enchant type it rly depends what you need, you want to deal more dmg but your sustain is weak choose magicka steal (deals less dmg than other dmg type glyphs but also gives u some resource back), you wanna do more damage from the enchant itself choose fire glyph/lightning glyph depending on your race passives/class, you wanna boost your all skills damage choose the spell damage and so on.

Just try out what you like and works well for you, all players are different and not everything fits all players.
I preffer to use mag siphon enchants on infused backbar staff with my DoT AoE skill bar (due to having trouble with sustain or rather to lazy to keep perfect parses) and nirnhorned spell dmg front bar staff with spammable single target skill. As for the type of staff it rly depends on the character I am playing, My Fire Mage DK got both fire destro, Ice Mage warden got both Ice Staves cause I do not rly care bout meta but instead choose what is fun for me. If I liked sorc I would probably made it also just lightning staff user cause I like roleplay =P

A good way to test enchants is to make them in purple with cheapish rekutas, I have 1000s of them. Then you can cheaply swap out glyphs. Once you figure out what works best for you, then make the glyph with a Kuta.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
