Defile should effect Mag/Stam Regeneration

Neither magic or stamina are penalized so harshly. They should either get rid of defile effecting health regeneration or they should have it apply to magic/stamina regeneration. This is just bad on principle.

Well, no. If you remove the health regen/healing effect, it will literally become impossible to kill some tanky builds that can already hold 10+ people.

As for the mag/stam regen, just imagine how ridiculous some skills(that already are OP) like incap strike will become.

You can have that effect via poisons as suggested above or via the Siphoner passive in the champion points trees

I think the bigger problem and what is freaking people out is they are worried about the tower runners who love to prove how awesome they are at running circles.

So you want defile to change into a stamina and magicka regen cripple, on top of resource drain poisons and siphoner cp? Or did I get that wrong?

Very bad idea lol, sustain is already bad enough when you are not running with your 50+ buddies around cyro. Also without defile it would be hard to kill ppl that invest a lot into healing and hp regen. You want to buff healbots or what ?

They want to keep defile, Keep bleeds. Buff resource poisons then. 30% Shut down a LOT of people. Lol. (Kidding, but EVERBODY KNOWS why folks whine about resources poisons. After Morrowind sustain is a joke).

They already nerfed defile uptime, and since then healing has been running wild. Especially in battlegrounds and no cp. A bg team with just a decent healer is almost impossible to kill on top of already self sufficient healing players run.

Not saying healing needs a nerf, but if anything defile needs to be returned to its previous uptime.

This is a very bad idea...sorry...

Here is a free piece of advice: Do not chase them. If you're in an organised group, don't take the flag but siege down the tower. On Vivec, well, you're kinda screwed. But don't chase them anyway.

They should absolutely get rid of defile effecting health regen.

Introducing Troll King hosed health regen builds, imo, by making high health regen easily available with no other investment, warranting the defile change...

Health regen builds were a ton of fun before the easy/obvious "hey I'll throw Beekeepers/Troll King/Green Pact on and be a troll lolol" became available.

I honestly believe that Major Defile is on the brink of being an overloaded Status Effect as it is. As such, I would not support adding something like this to Defile.

However, if the ESO community and Zenimax both believe that a debuff, beyond the Siphoning CP Passive is needed to reduce Magicka/Stamina Recovery, then so be it. I believe that sustain is in a good place right now. Poor management will lead to death, and infinite sustain without heavy attacking seems to be gone for the most part.

    <s>
Now there's an idea! Make people heavy attack to restore health!

No that's not really what I want. I want them to stop crippling health builds. The game is far and above in favor of the stamina or magic build. Why even have health or health regeneration if they're going to undermine the value of these traits. This is my point. They overshot the mark here and in turn this undermines the value of certain races (like Khajiit or Nord). Defile should not effect health regeneration. It can already be crippled with poisons. The defile effecting health regeneration is stupid, plain and simple. You will note this thread has completely freaked out the heavy DD community. Shocking! The same community that loves a no caps system. The same community that always cries nerf on tanks and buff on damage. I'm unimpressed.

The source of this problem occurred in year one of the game when soft caps disappeared and caps were still on defense but completely lifted on damage. This is probably the bigger problem. At the core though this ridiculous nerf to health regeneration by defile ought to be lifted.

You're advising me on something I am suggesting why a lot of people are complaining. You really don't need to tell me not to chase tower circlers. In other words I am laying blame to a group of people. You are blaming me. Its a bizarre argument. I agree with your suggestion. I'm simply suggesting the 'run around tower' and 'run around rock' people are why people are freaking out that I would melt their golden calf of Defile.

The assessment up above regarding problems with sets is a more salient point and goes back to what I've said regarding soft caps. Soft caps would be one way to resolve this issue. Another way to resolve this issue would be to deal with overperforming sets. Defile is a *** way to completely destroy another person's build. I personally do not run a regeneration build so I don't have a dog in this fight. I could. I run a Nord DK tank in PVE but he's on the wrong faction so I don't pvp with him. Its that simple. The reality is I thought this was a stupid change the moment they released it. I also admit my suggestion to nerf mag and stam was click bait to get the debate rolling because otherwise most of you would have not even responded. I knew that the DD community would soil their pants the moment someone suggested this.
