Battlegrounds - Why so quick to leave?

The purple team was sticking together. It was a good team comp with competent players for sure, but... You can't win if you don't try. Red Team seemed a bit disorganized, but not bad players. My team spent most of the game with 2 players because each time a third would join, they'd die once and leave.

Green Team
Magblade
StamDK

<Empty>

Purple Team
Templar Healer
Magden Healer/Ice
Stamden Spin2Win
Petsorc

Red Team
Pet Sorc
MagSorc
Stamblade
<Not Sure>

Here is a screenshot of the end of the battlground. My team ended up with 16 kills, 11 deaths with only 2 team members.

So my question to you, reader, is what would cause you to leave a battleground after one death?

Not me, personally... But in my experience, people who leave after one death are either PVEers who just want to be carried for motifs, or people with extremely fragile egos who can’t handle dying to better players/groups.

    Ok
    What I see here is:
    1) AMatch where almost everyone has bad scores.

2)1 guy with a lot of kills (probably Spin 2 win Spammer)

3)A guy (the OP), who subtly wants to show off that he only died once.
Your teammate on the other hand died 10 times, so you probably left him alone quite often

Occasionally I just leave a BGs if I’m fighting two teams using blob tactics. Not gonna sit there and break my fingers on a keyboard spamming shuffle because the ground is covered in snares while some idiot spams spin to win with a healbot blasting him to full health with earthgore. Not my idea of fun. Not saying that was the case here, but BGs has become somewhat of a *** of snares and AOE damage spam.

As a Light Armor Magblade, I can't exactly stand next to a StamDK through a storm of AoE player attacks, I simply don't have the utility for it. I do however, have the utility to teleport to my shade, or use invisibility as a means of escape. However, neither of these allow to stay with my teammate.

I'm a bit proud of myself for dying once, so is it so bad if I wanted to show off? I know that I'm a potato compared to most of the PVP players here anyway. No harm done, right?

Fair enough, I can understand that being eternally trapped in a web of snares isn't fun. I try my best not to leave BGs though, I feel like I'd be ruining other's fun that way, and wouldn't want it to happen to me.

When you play BG's and recognise twinked out pre mades names you leave because you cant solo their entire team no matter how good you are and the other solo turnips inevitably in your group don't help matters.
This is why there shouldn't be a grouping facility in BG's it should all be randomised.

Did you sit in cloak during the game? That’s a good enough reason for someone to leave because the enemy team will just focus them.

I Leave if i get grouped with potatoes that wont listen to me explaining tactics.. Yeah just ignore the spin2win while you u try to kill their tank. -.-

Or if 90pct is mixed with spin2win and snipe noobs. Sometimes i also Leave and go to cyro if i get group T-bagged since i prefer to play against grown ups :-)

what a sense to waste tons of potions playing alone against a premade group while your invisible teammates are hiding somewhere and waiting for a frag to steal?

I did not, I don't believe I could have gotten any kills sitting in cloak. I actively pursued combat uncloaking in situations where I had the chance to actually get a kill. However, I wasn't going to feed a coordinated 4-stack free kills. I also went out of my way to cast mutagen or Light's Champion to heal my teammate when applicable, though I am not a healer by any means.

Everyone has a different version of their own ideal strategy. This type of attitude often causes the problems that it pretends it is trying to avoid.

I’ve discovered it’s pretty easy to quit a BG on accident if you’re moving through the menus while dead and waiting on respawn timer. I have no idea how, but I’ve done it 3 times.

I now assume people are leaving on accident at least some of the times they bail mid match.

I never leave. No matter what, I really don't care if it's a slaughter.

I think the above is right, the one that said it was someone a PvE er or PvP er that doesn't like losing at all.

Also my playstyle synergies well with yours, I need a high damage stealthy bud to pick off my enemies because I usually run lower damage builds (unless on my Stamsorc)

Some low class peasants will leave battlefield like a coward, it's in their blood because they are just peasant farmer boys. They will cry and escape from battlefield here, they miss their parents "Mommy! it's scary!!! aaah!"
literally not everyone born fighter, so you just need to accept the fate of yours when farmer boys in your team escaping from battlefield.

History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.

A pug team against two premades both with a healer (one team has even two healers and two werewolves) while my team was without a healer, half way the battle my team has a no kill score because healers did their job wel. No chance for my pug.

If i see i'm against a premade and my team has 3 players, one of them below 300 cp, i just leave. I know that you can't possibly be good enough to be in my mmr bracket at 300 cp or less, and i'm not gonna be facing a premade with 3 people and one of them inexperienced.

    I don't run BG's for the same reason I don't duel - I don't participate in pithing contests.

Yes, I'm primarily a PVE player, but I do spend a fair bit of time in Cyrodiil because you don't have to be full of yourself to get AP.

What’s the 27/1/7 build? I’ve run into this before and wasn’t sure which character it was. Just rolled my eyes. I was thinking it was a warden with the swirling snow that just leaves a field of dead bodies behind them. Talk about asking for a nerf.

In a 1vPotatos 27 in 1 can be done on any build. Especially with a pocket healer. Although most likely this can be a good MagDK, StamWarden or StamNB.

I think this is my favorite response so far! I personally have only ever seen the ping that immediately after loading into a new area, or the occasional "spike" of ping. I also wish the FPS weren't artificially capped at 100, so I could pointlessly see bigger FPS numbers. ^^

I'm a PvEer, who plays in full PvE gear, and I find I give as good as I get. Usually close to a 2:1 K/D ratio. We don't all need to be carried, and a lot of you PvPers aren't as good as you think you are.

Part of the problem is a lot of people are just after the "random" XP hit for the day, and once you think you're going to be last, it's just a waste of time. Maybe time for a rethink on that particular "reward".
