Confused about sorc pets in dungeons

Okay so I thought sorc pets are not supposed to die in dungeons and trials now? Or am I wrong about that? I was just in Vet white gold tower, the last boss with all the aoe was killing my pets constantly. No sooner had I re cast them both, they both died again. It's a joke.

If they are meant to die, they certainly die way more than they used too. I feel this build is just FUBAR now. If you're on a boss that has aoe everywhere, you can't be having the pets dying all the time, it messes up the rotation because I am spending more time re casting the pets.

And yes I took points out of bastion since they are useless now, yes I keep my shields up all the time, yes I put all those spare points from bastion into resists.

    Yeah definitely something fishy, this is the latest patch notes regarding pets:
    * Player pets will now take 85% less damage from all Area of Effect and Damage over Time attacks. They will continue to take 100% less damage from all attacks in group dungeons, trials, and arenas.

    That is meant to be in the game now or in the near future? Because as I say right now they are next to useless on some boss fights. I was so frustrated in not only having to watch where I stood to avoid the aoe but to be recasting the stupids pets every other second. RIP in my rotation. Pet sorc is garbage right now.

    From the Murkmire patch notes:
    "Combat pets will now take 0 damage while in a Dungeon, Trial, or Group Arena."

    I have also noticed that my petsorc's pets die much faster after the update than they did before when according to the patch notes they shouldn't be dying at all.

    Yeah this was a patch after murkmire, so something is definitely wrong.

    If you want to achieve higher rewards it will not be easy, at first. Never give up on yourself IRL or in-game!

    In overland and solo content like VMA, pets die way easier than in the past. It is not just that shields are smaller. For example, I never used shields at Abyssal geysers before Murkmire and my pets were fine. Now they routinely die, even if I spam shields. And in group dungeons it is just ... weird. The Argonian behemoth boss in middle of Mazzatun (Xol-Nur?) tosses out tons of damage, from both himself, troll adds, archer adds, etc. Pets seem to be fine. But the final boss of Mazzatun? They die constantly.

    The concept was presented as, "Pets will behave the same in overland and solo content (i.e., they are very sturdy, however can still die), but will not die in group content." Neither seems to be the case. The pets are squishier in content where they can die. And continue to die in group content where there are supposed to be immortal. It is the worst of both worlds.

    Also, pets should auto-respawn instantly upon resurrection in group content. Trying to do a progression run in Blackrose Prison is brutal. I don't recall pets dying in combat, but that is tough content. You die a lot getting to know mechanics and target priorities. Having to constantly waste time and magicka to re-summon pets after death is tedious and stupid. No other build resurrects with skills grayed out and then has to waste time and resources before they even have access to their rotation.

    Yes, they die. A lot. Not supposed to in Group content dungeons but they still do.

    This has been reported on, they die to my knowledge in

    The encoutners I have seen my pets die in:
    Mazz - final encounter - Totems will usually kill pets when the totem dies
    WGT - Final boss during add phase / When someone leaves the cage
    Fang lair - Caluurions encounter, probably the 2nd most annoying besides Mazz as he likes to kill all pets at the most annoying times. Not fun for no death runs.
    BRF - Final boss its rare but they sometimes die

    It seems they do not take dmg however instead of "dying to damage" they now just depsawn during encounters where scripts play out. I figure this because during encounters like mazz/fang lair one both my pets will poof at the exact same time, which is unlikely that damage is the reason.

    If they can't fix this just please make pets instant cast rather than cast time, or fix the double cast time bug <If you summon a pet and try to use its ability right as it summons it will decide to summon him again>.

    I think they got the post inverted
    as it seems to be 85% more damage from DoT/AoE & 100% more from everything else
