So the new ESO plus benefits are we just gonna....



Can we please just go back on our free gems or at least give us the freedom to choose? Because I'd take that 6 free crates anytime even if it's just the twitch crates.

They can't. As a business you need to thrive, you can stay the same 4 years ago if you want to expand.

As I have said from time and time again, It is a nice gesture but it is necessary in a marketing perspective so as an MMO dev, you'd have to improve/revise the old system specially the paid ones if you want to keep your loyal customers on a tight leash. This is how business works.

That's not enough. There also needs to be pressure from the video game media and social media. Reviews need to stop lauding the game (look at some published reviews of summerset and morrowind.) And people on social media need to publicize the bugs that make the game unplayable.

Only then will the marketers and finance dept (the ones really in charge of the game direction) will take notice and allow the devs to work on something other than the crown store.

Well, the argument I see in some of these threads about free vs. stop whining about what you get for free needs to stop - They are not free if you have to pay ESO+ to get them. They may be an additional benefit, but that does not equal free.

I don't care about the stuff they are putting in the store for crown purchase, it mostly just seems cheesy the way they are doing limited, then sold to everyone after a bit. But whatever, I guess if it's discounted and you get it first and it's a new addition to the benefits, then I'll take it.

But it does feel like it's not a 'new' benefit, but a replacement for getting free crates when they do ESO+ free events. And since that benefit wasn't on the formal list of benefits, it's easy to replace in a legal sense, but not in the sense that players notice the crates have been taken away. So nobody should be shocked some players will be upset and nobody should be defending the move unless you are a zos employee IMO b/c there is nothing wrong with players being upset that something benefits them less now.

On top of that, they have quit giving crates away in monthly/daily log in rewards. I'm sure zos thinks this has impacted their crates sales and I think it has, but not in the way they think. I think people have just noticed how horrible the drop rates have gotten for anything good as they've added more lower tier crap you don't want to them, especially when it's stuff like tats you cannot trade in for gems unless you have them already. That combined with the halloween crates (Which despite some people loving the headless thing, is overall pretty lame compared to other mount styles in the past or to be used long term) has ended up making crates sales go down. Personally, I think with better crates coming, the sales will go up for them, esp with them landing at xmas, but they should really show a little RNG love IMO and thin out the crap in crates and allow us to gem out anything we get, whether we have it or not.

The only thing keeping me subbed is the double bank space, so I wouldn't call that a tight leash. More like a string on my finger. As far as I'm concerned their revisions are rubbish and when they do something good, it becomes reverted or nerfed after some time (Log-in Rewards, Twitch Crates). It feels like when they reach a certain goal, they dumb down their attempts at keeping subs satisfied.

But if people ARE subbing, reviews ARE lauding the game, and people on social media ARE generally happy and not publicizing bugs that YOU call game breaking - perhaps the game is not the thing that is the problem.

I sub - and it's HARDLY blindly. I find value in it.

Free Play weekends are generally tied to providing alternative ways to enter sweepstakes and have had no bonuses attached to them, other than what the sweepstakes offer as prizes.

Word, fight the power. I can’t believe they’re stopping the free crates lol. What a joke. Not exaggerating I find several new good reasons every couple of weeks to be happy about having dropped my sub. I haven’t paid for ESO since before wolf hunter, and while I still get annoyed at how the game runs/works sometimes, I feel much less letdown by it. Highly recommend people who feel similarly do the same. If the day comes when ZOS shows real promise and initiative to restore some glory to ESO, then I’m more than happy to come back onboard as a paying customer. But I’m not going to continue paying for a game that barely works. I’ve already spent the money to buy it more than a few times, if they want continued payment I expect them to improve the game continuously.

Why did you quote me lol? I don’t have an opinion on what the plus benefits are, I just like memes bro.

People can enjoy whatever. I pay a sub because I’ve always subbed to MMO services. What they add on doesn’t concern me, I only care when they take away.

As for my actual opinion, I’d rather they brought back loyalty rewards like Ice Wraith pet and robot pet etc depending on how long one has subbed. I’ve subbed for 2.5 years, I want an exclusive pet, like say “full size Welwa” or “Male Imperial Mercenary pet” or Psijic Pack Rat! Oh how about the wisps that follow Wispmothers?
