Music System

There are a couple of games I have played which allow one to use MML or ABC system to write music into the game where characters can then play it on various instruments. Archeage, while toxic as a game had this in it as did Shroud of the Avatar. I am told now that Final Fantasy is now employing such a system for the Bard Class. This brought me so much enjoyment as not only did I write the music INTO the game, but my and my family would do concerts and play for those who wanted to hear such a thing. I really think this could provide a new outlet in game once all of the dailies etc are done. It can be based on a world skill that maybe has to be raised in game somehow, or just in the game for anyone willing to put in the work to write music... eitherway, it would go great towards social aspirations =)

    Not a bad idea, @Krystal.

To be fair, the in-game music is pretty good.

But, this is one of the few outside ideas that wouldn't affect gameplay ... why not allow player creations for their own enjoyment.

If they could just give us different drum cadences and melody lines, that would be a big step. And they could put that in tomorrow.

Copyright might be an issue on something people type in. Then the back end if syncing across different latencies. But it could be cool if they got it figured out.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

We had something similar in Lotro too. It was very cool to see groups of players forming bands and playing.

    Hai sweethearts,
I think it gives people something to do beyond the constant dungeons and dailies as a lot of people get bored with or only come in to do that only. I spent hours writing music and then putting on concerts for others to enjoy. Things such as this written music system and maybe secondary in game games such as board games could help keep the server members interest. I believe elaborating the fishing system could also make fishing a bit more interesting... such as the sport fishing in Archeage. I know some who only played Archeage based ONLY on the sport fishing being more than puting your line in the water.

Only if its used as a way to get money could I see copyright being an issue dear... but being that Archeage and I guess Lotro has done it as well as Final Fantasy 14, and it's NOT the main reason for the game I can't see it as such. You are right about the synchronization, however I know Shroud of the Avatar utilized an in game sync system where one members is given control over the other band members in order to sync everyone on the same song. This could help that part =)
