This is a suspicion only. Last time this happened someone posted that steam login would not work till after midnight because we must wait for steam to refreash their servers. And, lo I became able to login just after midnight. Now if as I suspect we won't be able to login till after midnight (gmt) this time then then I conclude the following:
After a patch the game is different and somehow steam has a problem with that and the login server. Nothing Zos can do about it, like us they must sit and wait till steam reset their login servers. Steam can't be arsed to reset theiur servers just because some game has been updated, they think problem must be with zos updates. And so with everyone thinking "this nort my problem" the problem will NEVER be fixedd SNAFU

if it was so simple, we will be informed by now. Still one hour to go for your hypothesis.

Also, why should we buy the next chapter. You know, there are other things that I could do that aren't gaming. There are other computer games that I could play. I can quite simply get around to finishing story quests that remain, then walk away.
At the end of the day the only power we have as customers is to take our custom elsewhere. If ZOS don't say how things are going to be different in the future, given how repeatedly this situation has arisen for Steam users, then they are not meeting the standards that we would expect from other services or products that we pay for.

"Hi everyone, we're continuing to look at answers for this issue. We'll have more information for you later today."
"We're actively trying a few different solutions, and this may cause you to get kicked out of the game."
"Thanks for the questions, everyone. We're investigating."
Is it just me, or do the canned responses make you think ZOS support is botting
