Make a modern-day game like Elder Scrolls Online

I really like ESO, and recently I was thinking on the possibility of making a MMO game LIKE Elder Scrolls Online but in the modern days (or a little bit in future).

EDIT: Sorry I didnt explained what I really would like to see, it is a modern-day game that has the same mechanics as ESO, not the lore/story but the functionality of the game.

Observations:
1 - Fallout 76 it is NOT a MMO like as far as I know.
2 - The Secret World or its reboot it is NOT even close to a game like ESO.

You're looking for Secret World Legends. Pistols, shotguns, hammers, foci of various stripes, assault rifles. Your magic is used to enhance your weapons, not casting huge spells.

Secret World - Legends, as TSW is now eol due to this reboot,
but mostly TSW is the better due to the real grind f2p nature of the reboot!

I still have TSW installed on my PC and might play it again one of these days. Totally forgot they rebooted it as Legends.

I play games for the background, not the game system. That said, ESO has the game system I like most so far, so I would not be opposed to a similar system for a different background...

And yeah, I could see it work for many flavors. Scifi or cyberpunk with tech gizmos and possibly "psychic powers" instead of magic spells and loads of ranged weapons instead of the melee-heavy ESO combat, mossibly something mixed with tech and "magic" like Shadowrun... or steampunk, or superhero, or... or... or...

As i said, I come from the other direction. I look at good backgrounds, not at the game systems.

And there are tons of backgrounds I would love to see MMORPG-ized. Many of them from lesser known scifi or fantasy TV shows, book series or comics... but eh. Time will tell I suppose if any of those ever get picked up.

The poll option is way overstated. Simply not a game I would consider. I only like games that are medieval fantasy, large scale, open world, rpg.

ESO may have some bugs, some missplanned events and other problems atm... but i love it and i just want that ESO goes on. No other game needed. Despite all the problems its a really great game and pvp, pve & story are well done. And i love the setting. Fantasy settings provide much more opportunities for a methaphorical horizon than onesided future settings in my opinion.

I prefer to see meadows, trees, animals and stuff. Not downtown like in Hellgate London. I prefer old dungeons and caves, not subway tunnels.

Played Secret World and liked it. But in the long run the fantasy genre has the better visuals. But the idea of Sercet world to have no armor should make it to the fantasy games. More playing, less materialism.

Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

My first MMO was cyberpunk themed... Neocron. It had your weapon based classes and your psy-monk who used spells.
I would love love love that game to be re-released as a totally new game with today's graphics...be so perfect.

    PvP kicks in about 2:50...

Yeah...only problem is that FO76 sucks. horribly. and even if it wasn't bad, it really isn't an MMO. It doesn't have any of the aspects that most MMO's have (other then being online and allowing for lots of players). You could certainly define it as an MMO solely from the description of the term (Massively Online Multiplayer), but 99% of the playerbase looks for certain things in an MMO that FO76 does not have. And based on the OP's comments, they are looking for something like ESO. Fallout is actually more like ESO then FO76 is.

FO76 is not an MMO. it's a hybrid PoS they wanted to brand as an MMO and as a Fallout game so they could sell copies.

My only gripe with The Division was how chunky everything got. It was fine overland in Tier 5, but leveling was uneven, and even getting to 256 for T5 was a stop and go mess. When your weapons were slightly more powerful than intended it was a lot of fun, but progressing to Hard simply upped everything's health.

It had a lot of cool ideas, but I really found myself wishing it had combat more in line with Ghost Recon: Wildlands, once that came out.

Pretty much, note that if ZoS would reuse its setting it would be fallout online.
Some talk of ZoS expanding and FO:OL is the only candidate I see. Yes naming need works :)

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
