Guild Tags/Emblems

Do any of you old veteran MMO gamers miss seeing guild tags and/or emblems on cloaks, etc? I've been playing ESO since pc release and it's one of those things that really irks me. I see people in PVP and PVE working together and sometimes I wish I could tell what guild they were in so I could look them up online and see if I fit. Or do like EQ2 did and have an in game guild database with description and contact info. Sometimes it's hard to catch up to someone riding by to get their name to contact them. At least with a guild tag It would make it easier. I've tried a few guilds in the early days of ESO and never found one I wanted to call home. With all of my friends/coworkers gone from the game gone I think it's time to start looking but the tools we are given are not that great. Sure I can come here and wade through the pages of guilds, some active some not, but just because they're here doesnt mean they actually do anything together in game. I like to see people hanging out and doings things together not just a body of solo players. I think this is the first MMO I've played that didn't have guild tags come to think of it. Very strange.

Just thought I'd add as well, in RVR, why can old MMOs like Daoc have guilds banners on the keeps to show who claimed them but one way newer left that out. I miss that guild pride feeling in PVP.

You can buy tabards in this game that the GM can customize. These tabards are currently the only way to show a guild nameplate. I thoroughly believe the only reason more people don't show guild nameplates is because the idea of a tabard that covers up their appearance is just not something people want. I think it would be better to either have guild nameplates be separated from the tabards, or make the tabard appearance toggleable like helmets.

Additionally, you'll notice if you go to a keep that's been claimed by a guild here in ESO that the NPCs wear that guild's tabards and have their nameplates

Yea I've had a tabard in the past and your right I definitely didn't wear it due to it covering up my gear. I'd like to have it live every other MMO and have it below the character name but here we've already got account name & player chosen acquired title so having a 3rd row would be excessive IMO. I just wish there was a better way. Since cloaks are never going to be a thing here they're out which is a shame. I remember when I first started one of the guilds I was in was complaining that the lack of a guild name plate or emblem on a cloak would hamper guild recruitment. I think they were correct in that assumption.

As far as the npc guards having that I truly havent noticed. Perhaps I have some option toggled off. I still wish you could see the guild banners flying from the towers. Approaching a keep owned by a very active pvp guild should send shivers down your spine..
