Seriously?.... who enjoys 5 fps in a 20 vs 20 fight? Where skillls take 1.5 seconds to register..

I have 189 mbps HARDWIRED and im running xbox one X i know it doesnt make big diff but holy crap it shouldnt be this bad.

I think the fact that zos sees the campaign being populated that people are actually enjoying the pvp in cyrodil. How sad?

I think we need to do a better job of speaking with our wallets most communities put companies on blast if they are being ignored. Destiny for example the community demanded change and THEY GOT IT.

wanna know why? Because they stopped playing the game to send a real message to the devs.

I dont like boycotts because that doesnt solve the problem you want to be fixed in this case PVP performance.

At this point im jw do people have fun with they play in cyrodil crashing every 20 mins?

I love this game but the only playable game modes for me are adventures dungeons and bgs... trials are a no no frames drop to 0 and pvp frames drop to 5.

I have a potato pc and don't have half the issues you do. I'm suspecting that's a console issue specifically.

I love Cyrodiil. I love PC/NA Vivec. I've had amazing, fun times on there, and over a year of great campaigns and large battles vs AD and DC.

I do not love the laggy, buggy mess that Cyrodiil has become.

I mean, its always been laggy. That was true on Trueflame, and true on Vivec, and we all kind of accepted it as the price of fighting faction v faction v faction for objectives. Trueflame/Vivec has lag.

But ZOS keeps introducing bugs. Like the stuck in combat bug. Or getting stuck in textures. Or before that, buggy walls, buggy siege, buggy rapids, buggy meteors, and many more.

I love Cyrodiil. I love the clash of orgsnized raid on zerg fighting for keeps, scrolls, and Emperorship. That's what Cyrodiil is supposed to support - solo, ganker, bomber, 1vXer, small group, large raid, zerg - all of us clashing for objectices and campaign score.

Its a crying shame that Cyrodiil doesnt support all of that anymore because cannot or will not fix the persistent performance issues and the bugs.

I know you meant that to be provocative, but I think that's literally true about the type of player ZOS is targeting. ZOS is laser-focused on players who enjoy ESO's content casually -- people who aren't hyper-dedicated to getting good or putting in work, people who prefer to drop into a game mode and drop out as they feel, people who are more interested in looking great and having the newest collectible than having the top scores or leaderboard spots.

That's fine, I guess -- those players aren't doing anything wrong and I'm glad ZOS is creating content for them -- but unfortunately, I suspect that they're the only type of player ZOS cares much about these days. I think this for three reasons:
    1. ZOS' relatively new cosmetic-chase events are tailor-made for casual players and aren't necessarily as appealing to dedicated PVP/endgame PVE players, meaning they were likely designed as ways to monetize casual players. This seems to be where a very large amount of the devs' attention is going these days.
    2. ZOS struggles enormously with combat balance, which is more likely to be a pain point for dedicated players and more likely to be shrugged off by casual players (since the casual player won't be playing PVP every night anyway). If ZOS is going to be angering and disappointing more dedicated players anyway -- as they seem almost inevitably to do as they continue to break more things -- why not focus on the players who don't mind so much, given that they're the majority anyway?
    3. Dedicated gamers who spend a ton of time on ESO over a period of years are still less lucrative than casual players who drop in for a short while and drop out when the next hot game catches their interest.

In other words, yes, people who are having more fun in Cyrodiil than you and I are having these days are likely to have pretty low standards for the activity. ZOS is fine with that.

Cyrodiil is trash. Nothing beats playing on a $2500 high specced gaming laptop with a wired connection, and it feels like I'm playing on a Dell pre-2004 with Wifi. No other MMO I play has any issues with FPS drops, skills not firing off, and lag spikes. I crashed twice in Cyrodiil when fighting a DC uber-zerg.

When BDO has there sea monster hunts, where nearly half of the game population gets on one server to battle a Cthulhu-sized sea beast, the game plays gracefully without lag or frame rate issues. Same with FFXIV. Same with Fallout76.

FYI: All of the games you listed as being lag-free for you have public forums like ESO, and those public forums also have numerous player posts about unplayable lag, lag spikes, and frame rate issues.

These issues aren't limited to ESO judging from what your fellow gamers have to say and in spite of your effort to make it seem so.

    Is lag a problem? Yes.
Is really bad lag exclusive to ESO? No.

I have an absolute blast in Cyro. I love the big fights and taking/defending keeps etc. I love the situations where you are pretty sure everything is terrible and some how your side wins. Most of the people I see in chat in Vivec for AD are really great and helpful people. I don't officially group with people often, but when I have its been super fun. I just like to go wherever the fighting is, respond to call outs, actually use siege.

I don't love the problems. Being locked in battle for the rest of your life is really terrible. That's probably my biggest real complaint. Lag issues can sometimes be annoying, and being disconnected is super irritating. Other bugs lately have been a pita too, like the missing areas on doors so people could just pop right in without sieging a wall down, or the sprint bug. Yes, the overall performance should be a gdam priority, and should have been corrected forever ago. It isn't even a conversation really, they know its messed up. They know how bad it can be. They cannot argue it. So they mostly don't talk about it at all. It has to be embarrassing having a product out there that behaves like this, that you cannot get fixed. I don't mean to be a jerk, I'm not pointing fingers, but could you imagine how fun it COULD be out there?

Maybe I can't dedicate my LIFE to the game. I have work and kids and I should maybe think about sleeping sometimes. I care about being relatively ok, but I'm not trying to be on the top 10 of a leader board, because I just don't have the time. I don't want to hold my faction back, so I am trying to be useful. But I'm not going to chase BiS gear every 3 months when that isn't even fun for me.

It could be, we can only know through trial and error at this point.

I don't usually do PVP... but I took part in it during the summer event. PC EU, campain for "young" characters (Kyne? Not sure), and... I don't understand what is the problem with Cyrodiil. I spent a whole day running between forts, a lot of people were attacking and defending, retreating from us and than chasing us... A lot of people, a lot of mounts, all that AoE skills... Lags? Well, I didn't have any, sorry.

Its mostly Vivec because the game can't handle the abundance of players most of the time.

On PC EU NoCP Cyro is very playable with occasional glitches, provided that you play it on something more powerfull then Commodore 64.

I wouldn't play a MMORPG on a console, there is just no way.

As a PS4 player in Australia who noticed a big performance improvement in Cyrodiil from just upgrading my internet connection, I don't blame ZOS for ALL of the performance issues I have with ESO. Sure I get some lag and the occasional DC, but it is nothing compared to what I was getting in Cyrodiil before I went to NBN.

The only thing I would like to see is an Oceania server, to increase the chances of a fair playing field for us in this region. I feel that we are penalized simply from latency; I suspect that often when I get to see that I am being attacked by another player in Cyrodiil, I am already dead, or 90% dead, on their screen.

The thing is that on a console, you are playing against other console players, so all players should have the same 'issues.

I definitely would not want to be playing 'cross platform' against PC players while I'm on console.

While I sometimes get lag and skill freeze in very large battles and the dreaded combat bug once in a while, I don't get the problems as and as described in the OP.

If they could have fixed it by now, they would have which leads me to believe they either can't fix it or it is too costly/too big an issue to fix it.

Wish they would be more forthcoming with the answer to that question though.
