Easiest Undaunted (planning for event)

Okay, I'm a no CP casual player. I have mishmash gear. I know nothing about mechanics and my rotation (such as it is) is the keyboard equivalent of button mashing. I try not to inflict myself on content that leave others depending on my skills because (in the words of my nephews) I'm terrible at playing games lol.

I've been using the string of events to try stuff I'm too chicken to try on my own (dolmens, WBs) on the theory that there's so many on it that I can sort of slide in and get a little experience. I'd like to prepare myself for the upcoming Undaunted Event but I haven't even joined the guilds so I really have no idea what that's all about. I assume there are dungeons to clear? I'd like to try at least 1 Undaunted whatever, but what would you consider the trainee location/monster? Do I get to choose?

Fungal grotto is also the fastest though, since you don't actualy have to keep all the bosses for the completion to count - just the last one. that said... OP if you want to make it easier on yourself - queue up for random dungeons on a lowest level eligible character you have. lvl 10 is ideal. that way you will ONLy get easy faster dungeons and be able to complete your daily tickets without any issues

That's... I never even thought of that! I guess my bank mule will get off his bench and dust off his weapons to grab some tickets soon :). Plus if the dungeon finder assignsv easier ones for baby characters, I definitely should try with him first.

Yeah, you should do the normals, don't do vets if you know your not hitting hard, but in normal, even if you're not that great, it is still do-able, 1 solid dps a healer and a tank (many normals dont even need a tank) can do normals. Nobody should be shy about doing normal dungeons.

Another reason to do the dungeons, each dungeon quest has a skill point.

This, also many will be running this event on lots of characters so it will not be issues.
Main problem will be the finder being buggy because of lag.

An warning you will get lots of hurry up an run players running ahead of group as they want to do dungeons on 15 characters.
You can get this anyway but it will be way more common during the event.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

FG1. Any half decent group will be able to carry you. I don't mind carrying folks through easy dungeons like this, it's all just a bit of fun. I can't quite solo it, but with a little support, easy peasy.

With a couple of crafted sets and two or three skills (literally) you can be a satisfactory tank/healer/dps for low level normal dungeons.

Do not be afraid. Have a look at some build guides for how you want to play, get in some randoms and watch your confidence jet. This game is really easy once you understand a few things. And you can concentrate on playing content you like without worrying about your abilities.

I'm not entirely sure if the OP is not trolling, but I also find Vaults of Madness in Coldharbour being one of the, if not the, easiest zones on normal. Although not the shortest, it's a bit longer. Followed by the above-mentioned Fungal Grotto I.

Just as a matter of interest:

Would Bolgrul's daily delve quests count too? If they do, then delves are easy for a solo player of any level. I'm asking as my only character on the NA server is in a similar position - low CPs and mish-mash gear. He's a wimp! :D

no. undaunted just means dungeons. you originaly can join the undaunted (as in open the skill line and start doing daily delve quests) pretty much as soon as you get out of tutorial. long before you can even zone into 4 man dungeons.

lvl 45 is when you can start doing undaunted pledges, aka 4 man dungeon daily quests

If you are looking to use the group finder to do normal undaunted dungeons, use this time to make sure you have a character at or above L45 and that you complete the Undaunted 'initiation' quest. No fighting for that one required and the details are here: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:One_of_the_Undaunted

PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

OP, sounds a bit like me. :)
I've been playing ESO since this summer and first mainly the solo parts, which I enjoy very much.
Never was much of a multiplayer player, but I joined some guilds where everyone was welcome from new to veterans and I did a few trials and dungeons last 2 weeks and it's quite fun actually.
If you're with 2 or 3 other players in a group it should be no problem to finish a dungeon, in fact this weekend I entered a public dungeon on my own (Old Orsinium in Wrothgar) and came quite a long way on my own.
At the puzzle place there were some others finding out the puzzle and from there I decided I run with them (2 others) and we finished it, thanked them for it and were very friendly back.

When I have to do a group dungeon, I do 'em solo - I play a magicka bear!Warden, so I can't group - and (Normal)

    Arx Corinium I
    Banished Cells I
    Blessed Crucible I
    Crypt of Hearts 1
    Fungal Grotto I
    Vaults of Madness I

    are all pretty easy.

Try to find a social guild. A good carry can solo fg1 in 5 to 10 minutes.
Afaik objective of the event is "finish any dungeon" no need for groupfinder, pledge or anything.
Pretty sure social guilds will offer carrys for newbies.

OP did not specify whether they are only interested in event tickets or the actual event rewards, so I felt it important to answer both parts.

If I recall correctly, the event tickets will be awarded after completing any group dungeon and you can enter or queue for specific easy ones (Fungal Grotto 1 is also my vote in this case).

But, for the actual event reward coffer, I thought you had to queue for a random group dungeon via the group finder.

Granted, you can queue as a pre-made group and not have to PUG it, but unless you have at least one sub-50 character in the group, there's no guarantee you won't pull a harder dungeon. Most of the above responses are fine if you're only looking for event tickets, but if you're wanting to run the content repeatedly for coffers I was almost positive it had to be random dungeons.

I wanted to verify my above post, so here's what the event entailed last year. Disregarding the dated theme, I assume the basic rules of the event will still apply this year.

(2017 - Not this year!) The #10MillionStories in-game dungeon event begins November 30 at 10:00AM EST and lasts until December 6 at 10:00AM EST, and it is open to everybody who plays The Elder Scrolls Online. To participate, complete a random dungeon via the Dungeon Finder (Normal or Veteran) to earn a Mysterious Reward Box. (You can obtain one Mysterious Reward Box per character per day.)

Per this recent news post, this year's event is:
Undaunted Celebration Event: November 29 – December 5

To earn Event Tickets during the Undaunted Celebration Event, you must complete a dungeon (Normal or Veteran). You will receive three Event Tickets from the final boss of the first dungeon you complete in addition to the normal rewards. You don’t have to be in a random dungeon LFG group to earn your Event Tickets!

Yes. But that only specifies event tickets and makes no mention of the mystery reward boxes.
