PC to MAC Help

Hey guys
Just real quick, I have a few questions regarding the game when it comes to PC vs MAC products. My PC died at the very beginning of the year and I haven’t been able to get it fixed. However,this weekend, my dad is giving me a MAC decktop. I’m not even sure of the specs on the device itself and as familiar as I am with other Apple products, iPhone and iPad, I’ve never owned an Apple computer.
My first question in all this is a simple and stupid one, one I think I know the answer to. If my Apple computer can run the game and I login with my credentials, will all my stuff from the PC be there on MAC? My characters and progression. Do PC and MAC run on the same platform, so to speak?
Secondly, since I’m new to Apple computers, anyone reading this who is familiar with MAC devices, can you direct me where to find the specs for the device once I have it?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated! I’m really hoping this computer will be able to run ESO. I was a subscriber from day one and played the game just about everyday until around this past February. Since then, I haven’t played it at all. I look forward to getting back in there and exploring all the changes.
