Why Does Nobody Use Synergies?

If I use the dungeon finder, it seems like the vast majority of groups I get in don't activate my synergies. Worse yet, a lot don't use abilities that have one, so my sets like Alkosh go to waste. Free sustain and damage isn't a good enough incentive to press a key?

It's been a while since I've played the tutorial but I feel like it should stress these. People legitimately have no idea what they're doing.

They are simply unaware of it, the synergy buttons and warning should take the whole screen for them to be aware

I use them all the time. Of course, if the tank's rubbish, you're synergy is probably now 20 feet behind me as I've had to go chasing the bad guy.

I once did vet pledges with PUG, and two of my group members didn't know that you could get resources from activating shard/orbs synergy buttons that I was generously supplying as a healer. I had to type it out in group chat...

I always seem to run past them and the prompt to activate disappears faster than I can react.

😂 The best is magplars, healers or dps, who don't try to keep 100% uptime on shards and just throw them out once or twice the entire dungeon. One of the highest potential per-cast damage spells in the game and they don't even bother.

Maybe they’re new and don’t know, maybe it doesn’t show up. Synergies are often really buggy.

Well that was a good excuse before they improved them. A lot of these people aren't popping stuff they're standing on. It's normal to miss one or two, but to miss ever single one, potentially dozens over the course of a dungeon, is just not trying.

As for not knowing, I'm seeing this from CP capped players. A lot of them are even 1100+. It hurts my brain.

I love healers who supply shards between trash mobs. Bless you. especially with the speed some people like to try and finish these dungeons at.

Pugs aren’t very good with throwing out syngeries. You’d be blessed to get a magsorc/magplar with a warden or templar healer for those synergies.
Or there’s dps like me who grab every single synergy because it’s habitual from doing trials and stuff.

I wish I could provide synergies for the group , but I am a Nightblade DPS lol

We have only 2 synergies , Consuming Darkness & Soul Shred , sad to say but I wont slot either of them in PVE .

We have asked for years but ZOS just ignored us .

Most players don't know what synergies are. The game doesn't really teach you about them or which ones do what.

As a healer (magplar) I'm a synergy provider with my 'synergy priority' on feeding shards to the tank.

As a tank I'm a synergy user and generally try to hit every synergy that flashes for me - and that generally is quite a few being right at 'ground zero'.

As a dps it depends on how my time can best be used at the moment. If my sustain is good, I'm not going interrupt things to tap a synergy from orbs or shards. If I'm in trouble, I often have more dire concerns than tapping a synergy.

I've tried to activate some synergies only to find out I moved out of range. I do my best to activate them, but I don't always get each one.

If you come across me I'd activate every synergy like it's part of my rotation . Especially on my re-rolled account on PC since sustain can be rough while leveling back up to max CP.

Yeah, I also noticed with my dk tank, that very few people in pugs activate the synergy on my talons... I also don't see the point wearing alkosh there, it's juts the occasional shards here and there, very rarely see any orbs... (although do I agree, that for healing in a 4 person dungeon orbs are overkill, the regeneration from the resto skill like is good for hot)

I will synergize, even in PVP. I will chase down those bubbles too. Also the talons synergy is a favorite because the animation makes my girl stomp like a sumo wrestler.

I use them, but they can still be tricky to activate at times, especially when lag is a factor as it so often is.

Make Trapping Webs worth a damn and I'd probably slot it. Honestly, it's times like this that I wish ZOS would revert the changes they did to Trapping Webs and make it back into a Magic spammable

Something to consider y unqiue synergies have cooldown of 20 secs.

Don't orbs and shards share the same synergy cooldown anyway?

Probably just not aware of it. Not paying attention. Or inexperienced.
I do feel tho sets like alkosh are more of a pre arranged group set. Not for group finder.

Also it’s easy to determine skill level of your teammates with bonewall if they able to trigger it, it’s always fast and easy run.

Unless I'm tanking with alkosh, or its orbs/shards, I dont bother with synergies. Most classes don't have reliable synergies other than mag templars and sorcs with their liquid lightning.

Most synergies aren't even worth proccing, and hardly do it unless it's any of the above conditions

It depends: if it's an easier content, people won't have issues with sustain, so maybe they don't bother. It could also be the fact that synergies can be buggy--they might not see the prompt or fail to activate it. I play with a controller which has a double button combo for synergies, so half the time it doesn't work. Another reason I can think of is perhaps they don't want to break their rotation, that's all assuming people know what synergies are and how they work. I throw a lot of orbs/shards on my healer, and I get really happy when people use them, especially the bubbles, since they are a costly skill.
