hi all, I'm thinking off making a mag dk, can anyone advise on a pvp set up please, solo/small group

    My Magicka DK runs Silks of the Sun, Elf Bane, and Zaan ... (advice from a fellow guildie combined with my own desire to take advantage of the DK’s burning effects and skills).

    The Sun 1H weapon wouldn’t drop for me in the Stonefalls Public Dungeon ... but fortunately they are common in guild stores. The Inferno Staff is a quest reward.

    silks of the sun and innate axiom are very similar but wouldn't axiom be better due to buffing heals also

    I personally like 5x shackle, 5x spinner and use bloodspawn primarily or valkyn as my head piece.

    Sword and board front. Ice staff backbar.

    5 heavy 2 light. 3 sturdy the rest impen. Nirn sword, defending staff.

    Very survivable and good damage sustain.

    after 3 weeks of trying to find a viable build for mag dk,

    this is what i ended up being comfortable on

    2x bloodspawn
    5x pariah
    5x lich back bar
    2x will power back bar

    dark elf vampire built on devouring swarm with increased frequency being more bursty situations and more ultimate.
    the resistances go well above cap when low and counters fracture and breach, spell resist being high offsets greater fire damage damage taken in the presence of penetration from light armor.

    i use light armor because 8% cost reduction (seducer)
    10% spell crit (mothers sorrow)
    5k penetration (spinner's)

    heavy armor yeah you get more stam, but we got bloodspawn so thats better,
    the 8% healing is average next to 10% chance to crit heal
    and 25% increased heavy attack, maybe if it wasn't dual SnB

    volatile -> flames of oblivion -> burning talons -> devouring swarm (bar swap) draw essence -> fossilize -> whip whip
