Character creation screen needs a daylight option

There needs to be an option in the character creation screen that will change the background to an outdoor setting in full daylight, or some other brightly lit setting. The current screen is awful when it comes to choosing skin tones and the like.

    Agreed. I think even the character select screen needs better lighting than what we currently have -- something similar to the lighting in the appearance change menu (accessed through buying a token).

    I've always found the character creation screen to be far too dark as well.

    I think players would find it quite helpful if they adding several lighting toggles to the character creation screen, much like how some of the other MMOs do it. That way players can inspect their potential appearances in the full range from low light to bright light.

    No new crafting or game systems for 2019? "Season of the Dragon" would be better named "The Year of no New Major Features"

    Yes. There's nothing worse than walking out of the starting area and discovering your character's hair color isnt what you thought it was.

    This is one aspect they should copy from Final Fantasy 14. Their character creation menu has multiple options to view your character in different lighting environments including indoor and outdoor scenes.

    The lighting for appearance change is arguably even worse. They're both terrible.

    An example of how a good character creation screen background should be done is in World of Warcraft, for Alliance non-hero-class characters. It is in a large, open atrium style room in mid-day, with a big glass dome and large archways that open to the outside and let in lots of sunlight, so you can see clearly and easily see your character's skin tone and other features properly.

    Well.... the games I've played haven't had a free option - but the others at least had ways you could do that with in game currency.

    The issue for me is that what you see in the chargen screen is decidedly NOT what you get in game. I don't even know how many toons I deleted the minute they landed in the game - because who they were in chargen looks-wise was absolutely not who they were in game....

    And I know I'm not the only one who's made that observation. Just maybe the "newbie" one....

    ...and I will post it again the next time there is some discussion about the little faults of the character creator, unless someone beats me to it of course... ;) And yeah, I still find it painfully funny because its often all too true... I myself may have experiences the "repeat step one" often enough in various games including ESO...

    Not gonna happen.
    Anyone who'd suggest giving a paid service for free would get fired by the suits in charge... at -best- we might get -one- appearance change token sometime as one of the later daily login rewards, which would be entirely possible...
