Despite various frustrations, I still love the game. There’s a huge amount of content, especially if, like me, you have multiple characters. Even on my main, there are still plenty of things I haven’t done and achievements I’ve yet to earn.

I keep playing because I love the game and have no issues with it, as simple as that.

I play on PC EU with no addons, mainly solo and cooperative PvE and with additional things like fishing and housing complementing the main gameplay. I've not had any significant performance or balancing issues etc since launch, and run a couple of accounts on subscriptions. The only thing I dislike in the game is the trading system but I largely ignore it and it doesn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the game.

Played EQ for years until I just couldn't devote the time to ever camp(plus I was still annoyed about the monk mitigation nerf) didn't touch another mmo until a friend told me eso was getting better(i was interested but it seemed EVERY review said it sucked on release) I KEEP playing because unlike the way EQ was, I can play for an hour and still accomplish something. I'm still waiting on a viable, pure melee without finger sparkles as "skills" (loved the old monk eq before "class balancing) but I don't have to LIVE on this game to enjoy it.

Pretty much anytime I login, I'm going to have fun. I've been playing since Beta and I'm still not out of things to do that make me happy.

For a long time I only did basic PvE content, leveled a billion characters, worked through all the zones and looked forward to everything new coming out. It took me a long time to get burned out with that. Now, it is so hard for me to level a new character, I don't really enjoy it, I've done it so many times already. And slowing down is not where I am at in my head so anything moving at a slower pace is difficult to tolerate. I'm sure I'll come back to it in spurts at some point, but its off the table outside of double xp events with 150% scrolls for now. I will continue to check out new content when I'm not in the mood for Cyro for whatever reason.

Now, I mostly PvP, and I love it. I love how in this content you never really know what to expect. It isn't repeat repeat repeat all day long. I mean you do have some idea of what areas are probably going to be attacked soon or what areas you want to go try and take next, but the details of every battle are up in the air. I'm kind of goal oriented with ESO, and one of my current goals is to stick with a character long enough to finally get Legate Black. I need it.

My other focus right now is writs/selling things/mount training/researching traits, which is all basically done at the same time. Part of it is for things to sell. Part of it is trying to get higher chances for master writ drops. And part of it is I want ALL the gold. I know it is kind of irrelevant, but its a thing for me right now.

Lastly, I really like so many of the people that play this game, whether I chat with them or not. Most probably have no idea how much they have made an impression on me. Very few people from ESO (between here, the actual game, social media places, content creators, etc) have left me with a bad impression. But several have made my list of awesome people, for a variety of reasons.

For me, I play because I enjoy the game. I mostly solo, having been turned off on group play because everyone seems to want to run through the content just as fast as they can, and will usually boot someone that actually wants to do the questing. Sure, it's not hard anymore, but it's still fun.

Myself, I can't stand pvp, in this or any other game I've tried so far. It is the main reason I don't play Eve anymore. Thus, I don't care a whit for what meta is currently on top, or what is the 'must have' gear, I have the sets I need and they are tailored to how I want to play. After all, I'm the one paying for my account, I'm the one that purchased my copy of the game, therefore I'm the one that determines how I play. Seems pretty straightforward, actually.

@Kimba_Do I can probably put together a band of friendly Khajiits and Khajiit-friendly people that would be okay doing the quests. Especially on Alts that haven't done them. I too abhor pvp not even because I am bad at it but because it's just so competitive and breeds toxicity. Though the reason I don't play EVE was because how boring it was for me in 2007 or whatever and how many times I was betrayed by my own corporations.

Bg is enough to keep me going.
I play 6 characters for bg.
Gonna make it 8. Tnx to the +100% xp event.
The only thing I hated on bg was running into 8 werewolves in a match.
But not enough to stop me playing bg.

BGs + PVP, but barely, due to the lag and total unbalance.

PVE is literally such a waste of time, just repeating the same old shiz to get different armour to do......more of the same old shiz.
This horizontal levelling idea has the game drowning in repetitive boredom.

DLC's don't offer any real progression, just access to different item sets or cosmetic skins.
The 'Chapters' are ridiculous, they cost as much as other entire games do, but are tiny in comparison. They don't even expand the PVP in game at all, hows that for excluding a whole section of the community?
Ok, Ok, battle grounds get a new map every so often.....a new map. Literally a new skin on an old map. And we all know how broken BG's are at their core anyway.

Housing is a half-hearted shambles. Great idea with terrible execution and zero usability.

Anything worth doing requires a dozen outside Add-ons as the game itself is so basic it's unusable.

In truth, I guess like a lot of others, I'm waiting for a new game release.

I'm having fun. The game is interesting and there is so much to do. I have plenty of choices in how I play too unlike another game that is now totally on rails (ie, play exactly their way and only their way or no way). Visually the game is appealing to me also.

For me it is the huge variety of activities to fit whatever mood I'm in. Sometimes I spend all day running dungeons or trials. Sometimes I just feel like questing. Some days I feel like PvP. Sometimes I just craft and decorate houses. Sometimes I'm just chilling and fishing and farming resources. Sometimes it's all pickpocketing, stealing, and stabbing! No other game offers this much. I've put in a lot of hours and still feel like I've got tons to discover and lots of things to unlock.

I keep playing hmmm well cause of 1 reason for sure:

    1. Nice people I met

As for other reasons tbh I guess it is cause of having nothing better to play atm, and ESO is pretty casual friendly (well unless u wanna do PvP). I also love housing and right now I think ESO has one of the best housing features out there however I do would change a lot (check signature to see examples). Also I finally started to have more gold than I spend, got all story DLC's bought, could afford to deactivate ESO+ and still having storage for ALL the mats out there (wonder for how long tho ha ha).

But ye the greed I see now in crown store and every little new cosmetic thing being released for crown store/gems at rly ridiculous prices are kinda putting me off from game more often now... I mean sure I like this game and new cosmetic stuff but 600 gems for mount/300 for pet/4-5k <sorry dont remember price> for yet another crown store only bought home shows me that this game cares only about how deep our pockets are...
